Super Mario Galaxy or Bioshock.

If we can include remakes released this year then I still say Resident Evil 4 (Wii Version) and Zelda OoT (Virtual Console) are still the best games released this year.

I haven't played the majority of the games which people say are game of the year material, so I'll just go by the best which I've played.

Okay, I started this post with that in mind, but then I realised that I've also played very few games from this year.

I'll go with Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, though I (almost) know that it should not win game of the year.

The only two I enjoyed more than Galaxy were GH3 and RE4 Wii edition. Actually, chuck GHIII up amongst my other 4 picks aswell.

Halo 3, just because that's the one I've played the most this year.

I mean, sure, some of the gameplay elements are lacking, but mostly it's a solid game, and the Theater and Forge modes really make it great.
