Hello, everyone. Attempt #2 in progress.

First of all, I would like to extend thanks to JoS for letting this go through, and I'm sorry that yours did not work out. However, I think you will all be happy with what we have here.
==============

2007 Politics Awards

RULES:

-You CANNOT, under ANY circumstances vote for yourself. Doing so will result in the invalidation of the rest of your votes, so don't push your luck.
-You can only vote once. No shit.
-Voting ends January 1st at 12:00 midnight, Eastern Time. Any votes after this deadline will not be counted.
-In case of a tie, I will open voting between the tied parties FOR 24 HOURS ONLY. If we are still tied after this period, then we go to Deathmatch. Wait, what?
-Good luck everyone!

=================

Process for Submission of Ideas: If you feel there are any categories that should be added or changes made, please PM ME instead of posting here. I reserve all rights to accept or deny any ideas submitted to me. YOU MAY ONLY SUBMIT SUGGESTIONS UNTIL MIDNIGHT TOMMOROW, SO HURRY!

==================
Best Poster - this is the user who consistently posts in an intelligent, concise manner. Plus, (s)he is not a total dick.

Worst Poster - one of the users that makes the mods wish Wade had given them a "destroy user" button and makes you want to scream in frustration. Did I say "want"? *winkwinkwink* YOU DO NOT WANT TO WIN THIS AWARD!

Most Underrated Poster - despite posting some of the best arguments on this forum, this user goes largely noticed / unappreciated. This user probably deserves to win "Best Poster", but you all are whore. Show some lovin'!

Most Overrated User - Why the FUCK do people even like this guy? Pop this jerks over inflated ego!

Most Helpful Poster - this user is always ready to help a fellow NG'er out, whether it be on the BBS or in the real world.

Least Helpful Poster - This jackass revels in making the other users feel like shite. Give this asshole a piece of your mind.

Pontificate Award - the BBS is not only a place for politics, but religion as well. This user has shown him-/herself to be the most knowledgeable in matters of religion, and they are not an intolerant prick about it either.

Charles Darwin Award - user most knowledgeable on evolution / the most hardcore atheist here (not necessarily a good thing *wink wink*).

Steven Hawking Award for the Sciences - the user most knowledgeable in matters relating to the sciences. No, being crippled does not gain you extra votes.

Troll Award - this user goes out of his way to be a dick to everyone who crosses his / her path. Regardless of the topic, this user starts a flame war.

Chris Hansen Mediator Award - this user keeps the thread in one piece after the trolls come rolling through. Fair and balanced, and without much of an ego.

Best Newcomer - this new user has made the BBS a better place to trawl. Sign-up date of 1-01-07 REQUIRED! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Most Improved Poster - this user has made huge progress in the last year. Minimum sign-up date NOT required.

Gen. George S. Patton Award - this user is most knowledgeable in matters pertaining to the Armed Forces.

Gen. Michael Hayden Award - user most knowledgeable in foreign affairs, foreign policy, War on Terror, etc. etc.

Thomas Ewing Award - user most informed of domestic issues.

John Roberts Award - user most knowledgeable in legal affairs

Alan Greenspan Award - user most knowledgeable on economic matters.

"I, Lewis 'Scooter' Libby" Award for Perjury - Award for whoever makes up the most bullshit.

Robert Novak Award for Integrity - This user has no morals and will do / say anything without considering the consequences

Court Jester Award - funniest, goofiest, zaniest, <insert adjective here> user.

Most Overzealous Mod Award - either they go completely overboard ALL the time, or they just do a phenomenal job. But I think we all know a certain female Louisianan who will be winning this. Wait, can I say that? FIGHT DA POWER!

VOTE FAIRLY!

Cheers!

how about a Darwin and Dawkins award. rolling evolution and and super atheism into the same award seems a little unjust.

How about having this as a nomination thread and then having a voting thread?

Might make it easier to count the votes.

Probably because you want it. And us, by giving it to you, are enabling your sadomasochism. But like I said in the previous topic... Dre-Man isn't around anymore so I can't give it to him, thus you win by default. Congratulations.

Ravariel is a close second.

Most Underrated Poster - despite posting some of the best arguments on this forum, this user goes largely noticed / unappreciated. This user probably deserves to win "Best Poster", but you all are whore. Show some lovin'!

TheMason

Otherwise me.

Most Overrated User - Why the FUCK do people even like this guy? Pop this jerks over inflated ego!

Imperator.

I really don't understand how anyone could possibly think Imperator knows anything about what he's talking about. The guy has been proved wrong so often it's sad, especially in his claimed areas of expertise.

Every time he says something about politics, it's usually completely wrong.

For fuck sake, Imperator thought that Bill Clinton was President during the Gulf War. How people think Imperator actually knows anything about political issues... that's just flummoxing.

Most Helpful Poster - this user is always ready to help a fellow NG'er out, whether it be on the BBS or in the real world.

TheMason.

He's nice even to the dumbest of users, tends to tread lightly and reeducate people in as soft a manner as possible.

Least Helpful Poster - This jackass revels in making the other users feel like shite. Give this asshole a piece of your mind.

Ravariel.

The guy can't argue any points, so he waits for other people to start arguing, picks sides, and gangs up on the person he wants to piss off.

Pontificate Award - the BBS is not only a place for politics, but religion as well. This user has shown him-/herself to be the most knowledgeable in matters of religion, and they are not an intolerant prick about it either.

Hi everyone!

It seems like this "redesign" has been successful, I only have a few things to add on or clarify:

New Categories:

Charles Darwin Award* - user most knowledgeable on evolution

Richard Dawkins Award*

Keith Olbermann Award for Liberalism - This is the most liberal user here.

Bill O'Reilly Award for Conservatism - No, this is NOT a renamed troll award. Most conservative user.

* These categories were divided from the original Charles Dawwkins Award. People who have voted already, please clarify what your vote was for, or I will assume as best can. Thank you!

Clarifications:

Voting ends (at least for now) on Midnight, New Year's Eve (between the 31st and 1st).

Suggestions are to be kept to the PM SYSTEM ONLY.

Cheers!

Wow... change the categories a bit and I get mentioned several times... *blush*

I lost votes....hahaha! Ah well.....
(bastards)

I really don't understand how anyone could possibly think Imperator knows anything about what he's talking about. The guy has been proved wrong so often it's sad, especially in his claimed areas of expertise. Bitch bitch, etc etc.

I believe in previous years stating why has been prohibited, for the obvious reason of it turning into a flame war.

May I request that we make this a rule so the thread doesn't go down in flames and get locked?

Charles Darwin Award* - user most knowledgeable on evolution

Sol Invictus

Richard Dawkins Award*

Ravariel

Keith Olbermann Award for Liberalism - This is the most liberal user here.

Tough one....I'm goin with Ravariel though....nothin else comes to mind right now.....

Damn, I forgot about the new categories.
I have nothing much to add, really.

Keith Olbermann Award for Liberalism - This is the most liberal user here.

It would be REALLY fun if he won; and even funnier if SHE won.

Further rules:

Keep the discussion to a minimum. Following suit from General, I shall make a Discussion thread where you tell each other why you voted the way you did or DIDN'T.

I expect tears.

DON'T FORGET THE NEW CATEGORIES, PEOPLE!
