They use our schools as child day-cares while they go off and make some money. At the end of the day, they return to mexico, and use the money they earned HERE over THERE.
i was christmas (no offense to those who believe in some other religion) shopping the other day, at an already packed mall to see SO MANY mexicans (and those of you who will probably try to point out that i am a racist, stfu, because i happen to be a mexican myself, a LEGAL). What really gets to me is that they dont have to pay taxes; they go to this booth at the entrance and show their reciepts and get their money back.
i work at a fast food restaurant, and i constantly frustrated by the fact that EVERY sunday morning, so many people come in who CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH. I have family in mexico, and it is aggravating to know that NOT A SINGLE FORM OVER THERE IS IN ENGLISH, which is a load of (excuse my language) bullshit, since we have VOTING ballets in several languages.
i wouldnt go to a foreign country and not speak a single word of their native language (or in the US's case, most USED language), and ask them to speak english.
i also have to point out that not only mexico is causing this problem (although it is #1 on the list) but much of central and south america as well.

of course not, thats called courtesy. Noone is aksing you to speak Spanish though.
I agree with you completely. I am a supporter of an open border IF they speaka da language of the country they immigrate to.
I also think that if a bunch of us went to Mexico wed spruce it up fucking NICE.
Mexico, (and I mean real mexico, not the mom and pop border party towns where we all get loaded and buy our perscription meds we cant get here) is a beautiful place. I say fuck America, let the wetbacks have it. Let them worry about Aba Dabi Al Buzkil and his vendetta, well be coolin out in mexico city playin NES and getting high.

Its not perse his buisness, but it can definatly frustrate him seeing money earned in one country being constantly spend in another. If everyone would do that, the country would get into serious problems. So he has got a point (assuming its true)

I am not really familiar with the whole american tax system, but I can imagine that when people are using social services like schools, and others on a regular, if not everyday, basis it would be weird for them never to pay taxes.

not completly true, if he is able to speak spanish his boss will definatly make him speak spanish if there are alot of spanish-speaking customers. Also he is just pointing out he finds it ridiculous people not even try to speak the language.

No one asks me to speak spanish, but picture this:
lunch hour, VERY nasty rush. taking orders as quickly and efficiently as possible, then, suddenly, one of your co-workers needs help translating, b/c he/she does not speak spanish. now YOUR orders are all fucked up.

No, it's the same thing as capitalism. Money, as oppossed to currency, has no nationality.
I agree, I also live in one of the more Southern states and it's Mexican paradise here. There's Mexicans EVERYWHERE. Driving there cheap taco trucks, and armed with weed wackers and lawn mowers. It's pissing me off like crazy that the government is not taking enough measures to secure the border.
Why haven't you learned Spanish yet?
It's amazing people could live in areas with more than one type of cultures (and more amazing that they come from that same background) and not pick up more than one language.
I lived all my life with Mexicans, Vietnamese, and Fillipinos-- and I've managed to pick up few working phrases in all of them if not complete fluency.

its called goverment funding, do u like the roads, schools, firefighters, poice(probably not), the military, and agences like the FDA to make sure that your meat isnt packaged like in upton sinclairs the jungle.
if you dont like taxes your fucked b/c the only things that are certain in life are death and tax so when your house catches fire in the night and smoke overtakes you be glad theres a tax funded firefighter to pull you out and save your life
Well--
It's not completly true that all illegal immigrants don't pay taxes. You don't need a social security-- just a tax payer's ID number.
There is no statistic I could find, but what I see-- a great many of them make their taxes every year because there are incentives:
1.) They get back some of their money from which they AUTOMATICALLY pay.
2.) They become legal court papers to show that they've been in the US for a certain amount of years... this becomes helpful for lawyers and immigration services to aid them towards citizenship.
3.) Rent or house ownership become cheaper in many cases.
We don't have any accurate statistics on the rate, but this is something that's hard to fin out accurately because of the nature of topic: people get afraid of the IRS, so they don't say anything to help themselves.
But I will certainly point out that this is a BULLSHIT tactic to get hate illegal immigrants. Yes, many of them don't pay taxes... but-- like legal residents-- many of them do pay taxes aswell. If you're gonna hate them, at least hate them for real causes and not some over exagerated claim or half-lie.

you should pay more attention, i DO speak spanish. and no, this is not some tactic to hate immigrants, ignorant fool, its to show you (the people free of these burdens -mostly illegal loving liberals like yourself) what illegals are doing to our society. but i bet you wouldnt know, living a bit higher up in the states, assuming you LIVE in the U.S.

- Illegal immigrants in the US commit a fuck load of crime.
- Illegal immigrants commit crime at a much higher rate than the typical US citizen or US resident, we're talking about several crimes per illegal immigrant on record in studies.
- 12 Americans are killed everyday by illegal immigrants. This translates to MANY more Americans being killed by illegal immigrants since 2001 than by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.
- Every year illegal immigrants commit 1 million sex crimes in the US. An estimated 100 sex offenders cross into the US illegally EVERY SINGLE DAY!
- Most Mexicans believe that the South West US belongs to Mexico!!! These people that don't even respect our sovereignty are invading our country by the millions.
- Illegal immigrants cause a net deficit to the US due to the fact they don't pay taxes yet at the same time they consume tax-funded resources and services.

How's that for real reasons?

Holy shit, you sound just like this letter I read in my US history class about regarding the immigration of chinese workers.
I think if we look back and take anything from that time period about immigration we should realize that its the shithole country, not the immigrants, that are the problem. So theres nothing we can do (individually) except get a job that immigrants cant run in and take over.

fair enough... that was from 10 seconds at google..
your precious "credible" evidence \/
Chile is the perfect example why socialism cannot come about through the ballot box. When a socialist won elections in Chile, the u.$. government paid to subvert the government and eventually sent direct military force to assist a general staging a coup.
Between 1824 and 1994, the USA accomplished 73 military invasions in Latin America and all of them were preceded by cunning peace negotiations. In just the period of the beginning of the '50s up to 1994, the American troops openly intervened 14 times in Latin America. Just to give some examples: in 1954 they invaded Guatemala to defeat the nationalist government of Jocobo Arbenz. In 1960 the Marines disembarked in Nicaragua to give support to the power of the tyrannical Somoza dynasty. In 1964 it was Cuba's turn ( during the American invasion of Cuba the U.S. government was negotiating with the Russians.). In 1965 it was Santo Domingo. In 1983 the small island of Granada, and in 1989 the Americans carried out the plan "Just Cause," according to which 28,000 marines invaded Panamá.
Cuba gained greatly from its social revolution (1959) by catching up with the bourgeois world in matters such as education and health care. Most countries at a similar level of economic development have not done so well since 1959.
As a Third World country and like any Third World country, Cuba deserves support against U.$. imperialist interference. We only criticize those who only lend their solidarity to "socialist" countries like Cuba while leaving out the rest of the Third World.
Haiti is one place in the Western Hemisphere where a rebellion against slavery succeeded. Toussaint L'Ouverture led the rebellion that eventually cleared the way for independence in 1804. The rebellion was powerful enough that it had popular support after Toussaint L'Ouverture ended up in French prison.
In 1915, the united $tates invaded Haiti and took over its customs administration for trade. Then the united $tates dissolved Haiti's legislature and rewrote its constitution. In other words the united $tates acted as a colonial power in Haiti. Troops did not leave until 1934 and until 1947, the united $tates continued to run Haiti's budget. The fact that the united $tates took power in Haiti in 1915 proves that the united $tates had its own motivations for colonialism and it also proves MIM's line that within 100 years of 1776, Amerikkkans had killed off the United States. While "founding father" Thomas Jefferson was backward in the sense of having slaves and living in a pickle over it, he did recognize Haiti's independence and contributed to the atmosphere that made it possible.(1) By the latter 1800s, whites were even more backward than Thomas Jefferson and took up colonialism. Adding insult to injury, now the united $tates imprisons Haitians for immigration violations and once in prison, the Constitution does not protect them from slavery--even in the year 2004. So from the Haitian point of view, Amerikans have done nothing but go backward once Washington and Lincoln were gone.
After World War II Uncle $am would justify the atrocities of its lackeys in Haiti and elsewhere as necessary to ward off Soviet influence. U.$. colonialism in Haiti before 1917 and after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989 proves that the Soviet Union has nothing to do with U.$. oppression of the Third World. One thing we won't see is all the Cold Warriors who justified coups against democratically elected governments come forward and admit that they were wrong about their motivations for those coups.
Today Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world, wrecked by its close ties to the united $tates, which repeatedly destabilizes the country to reshuffle its lackeys there. The economic and social situation in Haiti manages to make Cuba look like paradise and state-capitalist leader Fidel Castro look like a saint by comparison. The U.S. State Department admits as of its 2004 web page that life expectancy in Haiti is 49.1 years.(2) Meanwhile, the same State Department links to the CIA which admits that neighboring Cuba has a life expectancy of 76.8 years.(3)
Haiti ends up in the u.$. news mostly for the people trying to escape Haiti to live in the united $tates. Many have noted how Cubans who arrive on U.$. soil obtain immigration permission while Haitians do not. Haitians are not so lucky as to be fleeing a so-called communist regime.

Hmm, its not the people, its the law not being enforced, illegals are prettymuch allowed to come I think, maybe the government benefits from it or else they would frigin stop the whole thing, build a giant ass wall with a most n alligators shit.
but really, the law must be enforced by first keeping them out, then establishing places they can learn English n all the shit they need to know, then they can apply to be citizens. It is as simple as that man, if only the government would just do it.

I will NOT HIRE SOMEONE WHO Does not have a Basic understanding of the English language, I have personally seen the Tragedy that the HISPANIC community has done by MONOPOLISING the restaurant industry, mainly the kitchen and bussers, because Americans in need of jobs cant speak Spanish and communicate with the rest of the kitchen it is near impossible to train and get things accomplished in a orderly and timely manner.

Maybe not "globalized world"--
but you're 100% correct in the sentiment.
Nobody really understands the history of the English language without knowing the movements of business. A major reason why English today is the way it is this today-- is because of business.
And in a major way, the social situation in old England, ruled by its French rulers, parallels to what is happening now.
They passed laws saying only French and Latin are the official languages. (To this day, the 'official' languages of England are Latin and French.)
They condemned businesses that used English-- but, people went broke when they tried only French.
So in the end--
if you own your business, then do whatever you please with it.
However, do you seriously believe that your business will be successful in the end if you only hired English?
Even illegal immigrants have gotten on the ball and actively learn the English language-- albiet, it's only a minimal and pratical level of English. Most, if not all, do know some English despite what everyone says. What is happening here is that a few of you guys are not willing to give partial credit for their small billingualism because you are either, 1.) unwilling, or 2.) haven't seen it till someone has told you now.
Heck...
I've worked the bank for like 5 years before I quite. And do you know why I was hired? Because I could COMMUNICATE to a rather large niche of a market and sell to them: The Latino Population. The bank was going broke when they at first stubburningly didn't want to do business with Spanish speakers... until they were losing business to other competitors.
Now, from a pratical stand point of view, I don't think Spanish will become the major language of the US not in the same way how English became the major language of England.
But, if we want to learn from history, then we must realize that business moves foward. And that if you want to be successful in business, then you will speak the laguage of business. And right now-- the language of business is billingualism: both English and Spanish.
Or just go broke.
It's a simple matter just like that.

i am not AGAINST people speaking spanish. speak spanish to your heart's content (b/c i dont give a rat's ass). but when you're an illegal, going to an ENGLISH SPEAKING RESTAURANT, and decide that since you dont know english, the cashier needs to speak YOUR language, we have a VERY big problem.
