For what cause would you revolt?

I was wondering if people could say the "least devastating" thing that could happen in their country that would cause them to join a revolution against the government. For argument's sake, we'll say the government and the revolutionaries have an equal chance of winning any engagement.
I would revolt (remember now, sides are split 50/50) if
-They put prayer back in schools
-They overruled Roe V. Wade
-They gave amnesty to the illegals
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to stand by and do nothing.

Jesus, you have very low standards for a revolt.
Man aren't untill the hit the big ones that the founding fathers did; self preservation, free enterprise, and our basic Bill of Rights.
I mean, I'm not going to go all willy nilly an launch a violent overthrow of the government due to something that can be peacefully and legaly changed, but if one loses thier basic human liberties(life, liberty and property) something must be done.

Plus, if the revolt will give results like the Cuban Revolution, or something like Pol Pot's Cambodia, or the Islamic Revolution, I am also not inclined at all to revolt. There is no need to replace a very bad government type with something even worse.
If a government doesn't respect the rights of a society and the rights of man, it should be replaced and the people should put a new one in power.
One cannot just live under despotism and justify it that there's a chance of something worse.

When I feel my life and limb are in danger, then I will revolt.
If I feel the country is going to a state I don't like, and I have no sentimental attachment to the country, I leave.
If I am not given the option, then I fight.

But that happened back in the Age of Crazy People. Revolutions in the last few decades have a decent chance of turning out a-okay, as evidenced by what happened in Czechoslovakia, Ukrain, Portugal, et cetera.
Back in the heat of the Cold War, not wanting to strongly stand against an opressive government was being reasonably cautious. Now, it's just being a pussy.

WOW seriously those are the top of the list for reasons to overthrow the government, allowing people to Pray in school? and stopping the murdering of children.
;
BY the way the amnesty to illegals thing guess you better get to revolting,
;
just a question what political party are you voting for? Democrats? with Hillary who cant make a decision on her own or if she does changes it in the next sentence, she currently along with the other Democrats are for giving Illegals drivers licence's in our country, why would they need one they are illegal and need to be deported?
or are you liberal who wants to see no fences built to keep them out, and are allowing them to take thousands of truckers jobs across the border witch will only help the drug cartels.
;
And I suppose you are not for the Republicans who are trying to keep the family values and religious freedoms, and protect our borders, because they are to conservative for you.
;
seriously each of the choices you made witch other than the illegals is a Minuit reason and even that is pushing it to the brink of insanity, contradict each party, ..

OMG, you have no fucking idea! The fuck if the government could outdo the amount of angry citizens there are in America!
Americans outnumber the government and the army billions to one easily, if in the event the government tried to enslave us,we would BEAT-THE-LIVING-SHIT-OUT-OF-THEM!!!
Lets say the people did overthrow the government, I don't think America would go all anarchy like some assholes would say, if it did then I think the leader of all the other countries would come and restore usto our rightful order, not divide us into shares or claim our land as their own.
The people from other countries know that we are struggling to free ourselves from this dictator in chief and feel sorry for so many idiots who voted for him in the first place.
We would do very well if in the event the government were overthrown

The U.S. Government has nukes. Lots of fucking nukes.
And planes. Lots of fucking planes.
And tanks. Lots of fucking tanks.
And a few robots. Not too many fucking robots. But they have fucking robots.
Trust me, a few million angry citizens wouldn't be a problem.

I would revolt if the standard means of political improvement and leadership, including the checks and balances system fell to the rule of one individual or a group of people. [Meaning they couldn't be disposed, impeached, vetoed, etc. etc....
I don't care how good the ruler is, the dynastic cycle is for morons.

What if the government you were overthrowing was a "de facto" government, a coup d'état from the Armed Forces? I would. I don't want my country repeating the nefarious "'76-'83" period.
In those 8 years, thousands of men and women were abducted by the government, tortured and then killed by their beliefs; and if one of the abductees was pregnant, they would steal and sell the baby.

Following things:
-When the military can't enter school grounds, but leaders of terror sponsoring nations can.
-When teachers are punished for mentioning religion in school, but not for intollerance of religion.
-When the majority of racism is found in the minority.
-When conspiracy theorists are more accepted than "right wing nuts"
-When protestors protest by stopping shipments of supplies from getting to the troops.
-When leaders of a nation aren't concerned with national security.
-When leaders of a nation blast someone for doing something that is entirely constitutional.
-When leaders of a nation motion to put someone in prison over something they can't even prove.
Oh wait... that's all happening now.

Alot of the stuff that people have mentioned have already occured in democratic societies, but no revolts occurred. [Revolt is NOT the same as riot]
Because despite all of that; the ability of change still exists. [And some of the problems mentioned, like 'beer' or more specifically, abolition were made, no revolt occured, the law failed, and it was changed democratically] Which is the ultimate testament to jfk's statement about peacefull and violent revolution. [Even though i hate jfk with a hot passion]

the reasons you gave for a revolt are pretty standard things that could be changed easily and peacefully, things that call for a revolt would be anything taking away our basic freedoms and rights.

The problem with revolutions, is that, in the end, they end up promoting blind and senseless fanatism.
So don't create a government that invests a large part of it's power into one figure or person.
The citizens of a nation are the nation, they decide where the power goes.
And all of those nations you also listed were also Autocratic nations as well, or historically despotic. The reason that democracy doesn't work well in Russia, there not used to it.

It would be good to see you end up against a wall with several bullet holes.
As for me, I agree with Mort. I'm not going apeshit over one legislative move such as changing the speed limit or modifying the income tax, but I would throw down if the government started divorcing her citizens of rights safeguarded by our constitution.

If any of my consitutional rights are taken away. No matter what, I'd know it would be an opening to the end and would revolt to restore the old system.

I would revolt if they forced fed all of society to go vegan. I think that is about it. I don't give a hoot about all the other 'civil rights' I have, as long as I have my life and my meat to eat.
