In the end of the last book, they kill God. If that doesn't say atheist themes, I don't know what does.

It's not God they kill, they kill(by accident by the way) The first angel who claimed he was God.

I zoned out after they freed the dudes from the Harpy world, it was quite boring after that.

Yeah, it's atheist in nature. But I don't see why the Christian community is getting into such a hissy fit over a movie.
1.) It's a story!
2.) If someone wants to make an atheist book/movie in America, they're ALLOWED TO. Duh.

It also says whoever has the Golden Compass has the power to rule the universe.
What?
A little too generous with the distribution of power, wouldn't you say?

Actually, I used to read Incarnations of Immortality, and the author, Piers Anthony, isn't an athiest, he's actually agnostic (meaning he believes that there is no possible way to know of the existence of any religious deities, so he remains neutral).

It's because the book was made for Children to read. Children don't think logically and a book where they kill God, and, when you die and go to heaven it's just a prison with nothing to do. That could mess up a child. Regardless if its just a book, a child does not need to hear something like that.

'Give me a child before the age of seven and I've got him for life.'
So scaring a child into being good all life caise he or she will be rewarded with life after death IS something a child needs to hear is it?
The Christian faith is the worst for using scare tactics on children. Look how messed up some people are now 'cause of their faith.
Also the people who are at the age to read the Northern Lights etc. Are of the age to know whats a story and whats real.

FUCK Narnia man! CS Lewis basically wrote propaganda. If peopel think that HP should be banned cause it could give kids false notions, then Narnia should be banned because it gives children even more false ideas (ie heaven)

They kill a God doppelganger, and discover there may have never been a God in the first place.

STOP GOING OFF TOPIC!
Sweet jesus christ, listen to me here, I was talking about that the Golden Compass has nothing on the book I linked to.
If you guys keep on going off-topic, I might as well get a mod to lock this.

I'm an atheist...
To a Christian, I might as well say I'm a rapist.
Hail 7chan.
