What do you think for one of my first times programming without using copy pasted code?
Excellent for your first game, mine got a 2.12 :(
it's pretty good for about 5 minutes orso. i liked how the screen got kinda red when u were dieing.
America. Ghettos. Walmart. NFL. Internet. Slavery. Starbucks. Disney World. Porno. Fake tits. Sushi. Taco Bell. Rodeo. Christmas. Pop-Eye. Books. Sportsmanship. Fuck yeah.
I'm gonna be ultra-critical here, but I'll start by saying that for your first game it's pretty good.
The menu comes in waaay too slow. I'd speed that up a little bit.
It needs a timer or something to give you a sense of urgency.
Nothing seemed to happen when I hit a wall. I see a life bar, but it's not going down, so I assume that is a bug. Maybe if the life bar worked you wouldn't need the timer I suggested above.
I didn't even notice the score at the bottom and the life bar or any of the stuff at the top the first time I tried it. Maybe you need to make them bigger or something? Maybe it's the plain black backdrop on those bits?
OK, just tried it again and the life bar was working this time. So no idea what happened before.
Well, I think it's pretty good. Shows you got some AS skills, though the thing I would critices most in (constructive, of course ;)) is the gameplay itself. I don't think friction should be used in games like this, it was almost impossible to get trough some stuff because of that. And sometimes when you hit a wall, it smacked you into another, which smacked you back, thereby instant loss :(
But very good for a first timer! :)
I liked it, very nice for a first game. I'd love to be able to make something like that, would get me an A* for my ICT coursework :D
One huge thing
Make it so when you change levels the ball stops moving
