Are you... serious? WAMP is a lame "knockoff" of software (apache, mysql, php) thats really supposed to be for *nix; ported to Windows. Its probably built into your distribution at some level.

They're just acronyms. You're not searching for WAMP for Linux, you're searching for Apache, MySQL and PHP. You can get them all separately.

I know. I think he's looking for a program like MAMP or WampServer that automatically installs that shit for you in a few clicks, and I thought that's what LAMP was.

LAMP is just a term.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAMP_(softw are_bundle)
Its not a specific software (or bundle of existing softwares) produced by one person or company, its just an acronym on the linux front. WAMP is an actual thing thats distributed by one person, but it really isn't anything either.

WAMP is Windows Apache MySQL PHP.
LAMP is Linux Apache MySQL PHP.
So, Taylor, stop being an annoying ass. He's right, it's what he needs for an easy install.

Somehow you were trying to be an ass and tell people not to install LAMP (the XAMPP for linux). Or atleast that's what it looked like to me.
I myself used LAMP some time ago and it worked very well.
