I redid my site, and got paid hosting and a domain. It is called DZine-Online. I redid it for the holidays. I want to get some responses on how it looks, and whether it's fast or not. I even put in a favicon. What can I improve on?

I frankly think it's hideous. Way too much wasted space, it's not centered, and the background and content colors don't really mix in my opinion.

Not centered? Frankly, it appeared fine on my 15-inch monitor. The colors will be gone soon anyway, once the holidays are over.

You can't really compare my site to Newgrounds, because I'm not trying to rip off Newgrounds, unlike many other sites out there.

The gradient looks like puke, and the unbordered header is just not right.

I have to agree with everyone so far. Take some time and look at different sites and notice the attributes that make them stand out. Notice how the user navigates and how space is appropriately allocated to different sections. Then take these concepts and come up with your own layout.

Yep. Pretty sucky... Also, the font shouldn't be Times, put effort in and you may have something good. Maybe...

It's too wide for a 1024 px wide screen resolution and the colors suck. Never use red and green together in a gradient because it just looks like mud.

It's not centered, there are people in this world with another monitor then you.
The countdown or whatever it is at the top looks weird.
To much space used considering the amount of content.
The gradients...
The way how you use free applications on you site isn't good at all.
Lets not start with the code.

Personally I like a good gradient, but this one seems overdone, expecially when you consider the dimensions of what can be done with a 1px width image(yours is 2000px wide). And the colours don't go very well together and do not blend properly into your background colour.
Everything is aligned to the left despite what you think and your flash's countdown digits are cut off at right of each number and the labels in it are overlapping.
I don't object to your use of free scripts, they can save time but you might want to theme them so they fit in with the rest of your site.
Other than that there is a 274 to right of your bottom navigation bar, what's that for?
I will not go into your source except to say that you need to learn better coding practices.
Hope it helps!

I feel that it looks too 2D, probably due to the lack of images and the amount of solid colours.
When the gradient flows from red to green you get an awful brown shit stain in the middle of the page.
I think the grey/gray doesnt fit the other predominant colours.
I think the use of green and red makes the site look amatuerish perhaps make them more subtle.
As you can see the above are just my oppionins and may not make the site look any better, also on my 32" monitor its aligned to the right, not everyone uses 15" you know. To fix this simply:
#wrap{
position: relative;
margin: auto;
}
and put that wrap around everything.
Also, Well done on using Divs and not tables. There are too many tables supporting sites, in my oppinion.

congratulations you have made your first div tag layout, i don't applaud the fact that the whole site looks like you opened up paint and said "well doesn't that look jolly". You need to go around the internet for about 3 days and just check out styles and how spacing works. don't use tools that generate code, thats cheating....
also stat counters are a sign of not being professional. take it off. nobody wants to see your stats but you...

Wait... So using Dreamweaver counts as "cheating?" And yes, I will change the background. That's the last time I use gradients...

No, that's the last time you use gradients irresponsibly.
Gradients can turn out really well if you use them properly. However, green and red are complimentary colors on the color wheel. That means they're total opposites. (Red is red, and green is between blue and yellow.) So, in order to equalize the gradient, it has to go into a brown stage. Yech!
Try to make gradients more subtle. It adds a nice, professional accent to a website.

It's only cheating when you don't know how to clean up the extra crap that dreamweaver throws into it.

I will remind you all that I have almost no knowledge of HTML. So how would I know what is unnecessary?

Using WYSIWYG when you have absolutely no knowledge I guess is acceptable, but you won't learn anything from pressing buttons to make everything you want.

And I keep telling you to go to http://www.w3schools.com to learn. It's not that hard.

I know you all want me to learn. The thing is, I'm more into art and drawing. I can't spend months learning HTML just to make a decent site to display my works. Besides, I have no plans to do commercial web design in my life. So for my purposes, pushing buttons works well enough.

If you want people to come to your site continuously, your site needs to not look hideous.

I'm working on a redesign. My theme colors will be black, gray, and blue. What do you people think? Will those colors mix well?

It depends on the actual hues.

Key word in my last post- "working on it," as it's not on the site yet. Complete redesigns take time, which I do not have very much of.

I know. When it's finished, I should not see a single pixel colored #FF0000, #0000FF, or #00FF00.
