Game Character Art!!!

Hey, thought I would post a bit of character art from an up and coming game I am working on with Vengeance!! These are all direct screen grabs from the sprites in the game. If you think it looks cool check out Vs blog post about it, which also includes an early video demo!

Id really appriciate comments and tips or even ideas for new enemies!

First one, this is the guy you play as:

An early suicide enemy, with his attack! The explosion looks much nicer in motion tbh!

Another later enemy! His gun shoots snowballs :D Thats the last for now, might post more tomorrow if any one likes them! Comments on the art would be cool, or the game, and im sure Vengeance would love comments on his blog too!

Cheers man :) Yeah I wanted to keep a fairly clean look to it, not make it TOO detailed.

Yeah we are working hard on the game! No idea how long its gonna take to finish though!

Hahah yeah, I think there will be a whale in there somewhere, even if its just part of the level! Hmmm... a level inside a dead whale? I like it!

Just done a new enemy.... what do you think? im not too sure on the colours I used... also do you like the blood? should i get rid of it, keep it, or add more?

the splatter should be more cohesive. liquids tend to stick together, something to do with polarity of the mollecules or something...

anyway, stuff like that doesnt just make streaky rounded lines.
if you feel like making a mess, grab a ball-point pen, snap off the tip, and blow/flick it at a piece of paper. look at it. draw what you see. repeat with chocolate sauce... andd... you've got a blood simulation!

post pics if you actually do this...

It looks good, but apparently, if you want to use blood, it gets a instant age rating of 15, otherwise, it looks good. Add a drip effect if you want to emphisise blood.

yeah i guess it could look more realistic... im not really trying to make it as realistic as possible though, just want it to look cool! I get what youre saying though, cheers for the comments :)

well its a game about shooting things, and violence is fun! besides, i love drawing and animating blood, and it makes killing things oh so satisfying!

I dont really see any similarities at all apart from the fact that they both involve penguins....

The explosion is VERY good.
I think its one of the most perfect explosions I have seen for a flash game.

Yeah it seems like it... Its wierd how you have tons of request threads with hundreds of posts asking for "cocks", but when I say ill properly draw ( and animate) a character no one cares!

Just thought it would be nice to have some ideas from the community for they game, never mind ill just think them up myself :)

That does sound like a good idea. Just... I would have suggested as putting them up as people who tell you how to play instead of instruction on the menu. One more thing, I love the polar bear, it looks awesome and I looking forward to this game.

Im still not sure what is meant by "newgrounds characters"... Do you mean like, Pico or something? Tbh I think id rather design my own characters, its more fun and i want it to all be my artwork :)
