so just a few days ago my computer just out of the blue got this problem. I cant get on my computer. now before you go on about "how are you on here?" its because im on safe mode. Under normal mode, it will do a few things.
1. goes to the log in section, i type password, takes longer then usual. goes to desktop. has icons, but i cant click anything.
2. does same thing as #1, but without the icons, just my desktop picture.
3. i put in password, it says loading personal settings, and stays that way, doesnt do anything more.
4. i put in password, click the arrow button to have it log in, but doesnt do anything.
each time i have to press power to turn off, because pressing restart or power off on the botton doesnt work.
i have tried a revert to previous settings, where it goes back a few days to where the computer was fine, but after it restarts it isnt fixed.
ive tried a disk scan and fix, but when i had it restart with disk scan enabled, it didnt disk scan. said it was finished scanning the disk, but it didnt do it.
so currently, im on safe mode, doing a full system check with norton, and a "scan fo and attempt recovery of bad sectors" disk check, which i dont have to restart with.
i dont know if this will help.
i am still under warranty, but anyone got any ideas of what could be the problem?
btw, its a toshiba that runs windows xp

If you want real answers instead of things like "have you tried putting your dick in the floppy drive," you should go to a professional help site.
Try http://www.geekstogo.com/forum. They answered my computer questions in at least three days.

Okay, if you only get the desktop picture, do CTRL ALT DEL and goto task, then new, then type in explorer.exe
This is a malware problem, you should either reformat or send it to Toshiba to fix, but really, reformat.
I dont have a signature, stop bugging me.

I would think it is some program starting up when you log in that is slowing it way the hell down. Because your in safe mode now, they programs that are only essential are ran, so the bad program is not being ran. I would go to start-run-type in "msconfig" and go to the startup tab. Those are the processes that start up on default. You can deselect the ones you don't need and ones that you suspect are the programs causing this.

its cuz you want obama to be prez.
no its cuz you dont got enough internal memory to support the parody to transfer the information through the cpu to connect the GUI with the commands through the mouse.
