Film noob...

Hello newgrounds.

I'm getting myself a new video camera for Christmas but one simple problem stands in the way;
I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT VIDEO CAMERAS.

I want a video camera to make films with nice quality, but I don't really know the basics of camera types and categories and such.

Can anyone give me some suggestions of cameras or some reading material to introduce me to it before I make the wrong camera choice?

I'm not looking for a cheap beginner camera, because I tend to learn how to use things quickly, so I don't mind starting with something a bit complicated.

Depends. If you want a little digital camera, it's nice for little videos.

If you want HD stuff, you need a nice $2000 range camera. Then again, I don't really know too much about these.
