That's one of the few King books I just couldn't get into. I liked The Shining best, but don't care for the movie.
My favorite book is Dance Dance Dance by Hauki Murakami.
The Amulet of Sarkazand. or THe Butlerian JIhad and the 2 other books that go with it.
PUDDING!!!!
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis.

Ahh.. The Stand was one that I loved.. I like the whole idea of humanity restarting, sort of. Cool setting, I think, though Stephen King is a always seems to hint at God in his books.
XBL: Foar The Lulz

"Cyrano de Bergerac" - Edmond Rostand
Some fiction book that was supposed to be a diary of a guy in the Vietnam war.
He was there for a long time. I think at one point he went home and came back but I forgot.
It was about him and his buddies or w/e defending a hill for like... ever. He spent his whole time defending this hill and the book is written like a diary.

I liked "Angels and Demons"
Dan Brown ftw!
KILL ALL SONS A BITCHES.
Adolf Hitler - Mein Kampf. Every word is genius.
In the field of fiction? i would have to say Don Quixote De La Mancha. Which is a shame, because I hold Don Quixote up to be a great figure for men to follow, tho we are to think him a fool. The main target of the book, however, is other authors. It is a very amusing book. I laughed when reading it yesterday and I don't tend to laugh at the written word.
I actually love Wasp Factory. I love a book that gives me a good mindfuck at the end. Several of Iain Bank's books do that to me--well, the few I've read.
Last time I decided what my favourite book was I chose The Subtle Knife.
But choosing a children's book as my favourite book might make people think less of me here.
So... The Encyclopedia Britanica G-H.
Kuro - Puting the 'Kur' back in 'inkurable disease.'
Mr. Popper's Penguins, Ginger Pye, Pinkie Pye, The MOffats... and a lot more stories that are usually for kids.. tahts what I get for being a teacher... meh

I got that as a present for being confirmed from one of my girl friends. It's a pretty good book.
George MacDonald's The Complete Fairy Tales
Such a great book full of original fairy tales that no one has ever heard of. Really, it's brilliant stuff.

It depends on what kind of genre.
For mystery/crime novels, I love Gregory McDonald's 'Fletch' and 'Flynn' novels. Especially 'Fletch', which happened to be made into a very hilarious movie.
My favorite comedy writer is Terry Pratchett, and his 'Discworld' novels.
For more serious books, I like 'The Difference Engine' by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling.
