there's been a lot of animations in where i can see a LOT of blur, but it doesnt lag, then why does a little blur on my projects make the computer lag so much? (even after i compressed the movie)

well give an example. If you're talking about something like waterlollies, you'll see that almost anything that moves has no blur to it. You should also always use low quality blurs, and I recogmend against using blurs for backgrounds and instead create a bitmap blurred bg from photoshop. (or filter in flash, export the image and reimport it if you don't have PS)
