Most of my fights are play fights or only half serious.One fight with this girl was half serious. We were both trying to get the upper hand, and still beat the other up except neither of us was angry at the other. I grabbed her hair and she had mine. I being a dumbass said "if you let go of me i'll let go of you" i let go she didn't.So i got pissed and started to punch her.Then the teacher said if we didn't stop we would get sent to the principal so then we both let go.

Blocking is crucial. Mind you sometimes that is hard when it is full on. Just be prepared to take some hits.
My main advice though would be to hang back and let them go at it and just defend. That away you can take advantage of any openings that might appear.

One of the easiest maneuvers to get out of... (if you know how) ;)

When they push you forward, swing your leg behind both of theirs, grab their legs and lift them into the air on your hip.
You have complete control of them in this situation and if you like can drop them backwards onto the ground. Mah fav is putting your elbow in their groin while you fall and when you hit the ground they will be in incredible pain!
