AGH, I just can't believe how many reviews and people who WONT BELIEVE that it's all in one layer! It's so annoying! I tell these guys to name the part they want and give me their eMail and I'll give it to them, ok?

I just realized that I just can co-author 9 people not 10.... WHAT AM I GONNA DO??? Pickleman was going to be co-authored, but I added Morrowdays first, and if so, who am I going to switch with Pickleman?

Well, I'm actually motivated to HOST the next One Layer Collab. Partly because I just wanna see how much work it is and whether I'd be able to do it, and second, I wanna do this justice. We'd make a bigger, better one than before. And this time, due to people nagging so much, we'll only use one symbol (though that'd probably be the Play button... :p). Also, we should give them proof next time. Like, screenshot the file name and the timeline with the one layer and (if we are doing no symbols) the library.

But that'll be far from now. I might a batting average by May, and then I've got a couple of months with nothing planned. I might do it then.

But anyway - it's been great working here, guys. I mean - I just got my first award! :D So what's not to thank for!

First of all, even if true, that doesn't excuse the animation. If you're going to create a challenge for yourselves, you must surpass it and do as good as you could without the challenge or better. Otherwise you're just adding a flaw to your work and hoping it will make people feel sympathetic and vote higher.
If you want examples of challenges people have given themselves that they overcame and create an awesome animation anyway, I can provide them.
I can also provide a list of movies that, irritatingly enough, the author "handicapped" themselves, did a terrible job with the handicap, and still got high scores because people go "Wow! You had a handicap! That excuses EVERYTHING!"

Secondly, YOU HAD MOVIE CLIPS. (You even said so yourself.)
As I said earlier, Hans developed his entire "It's a Halo Thing 1/4" movie on a single layer, each group of scenes being a movie clip (I know because I developed a few scenes).

Did you explain to the reviewers, "Oh, btw, we can have have a central main layer, and have tons of movie clips with things going on inside of them on top of it and it's just as easy as creating the average movie"?

Good job, everyone. Hope we get weekly 5th or something.

Mass-voting might get it there, but do you really think it's worthy?

I'd state all this in a review, but apparently you're all mass-abuse-button-clicking, so it will most likely be deleted by some trigger happy review mod without being given proper consideration as an intelligent and unoffenisve, unabusive review.

I think its because they think that the quality on some parts are VERY low!
apart from morrows and some others if this wasnt a one layer collab and just like the fun collab or something it wouldve got an EVEN lower score and probs no award!

and maybe it was a bit toooooo long... i clicked 'X' the first few times watching it less than halfway through due to it being so painfully boring...

i was thinking this: we only use mcs for filters like u said, and maybe we should like also work on a general theme, or a fixed script that everybody animates a part that when together follows into a story being with diferent types of animation each time :) just tossing ideas,

as for the giving stuff to people by mail... u can do that but i would like remove a piece in the beginning a piece in the middle and a piece in the end so that people serteainly can't steal our movies :) of course u'll get remarks then like, u cut away the parts with 2 layers.... but i think it is safer :p

No one's going to want to steal this. I'm not saying it completely sucks or anything, but with all the movies someone could easily take and claim as their own on the web, they're not going to go after an amateur collab piece.
And even if they did, you've already submitted it. It's not like they can steal it now.
Also, decompiling is easy enough. If they really wanted your fla file, they could have it whenever they wanted.

To cut the long story short,if movie clips were used,it was only for the filters. Here is a screenshot from my fourth part that was too big to fit in the collab,as an example,it does NOT have any movie clips at all, and is more than a minute long. I know you probably didn't mean anything bad (I hope) but please don't get us all into a debate or it'll turn into that shit that went off between you and MindChamber. Peace :)

Also,Marcy,if you are thinking of sending some of the parts to specific people - DON'T - it will have no effect. Even if one persons sees it,hundreds of other will still complain and give bullshit. The only persons you should send it is some of the admins,so they can put a Newgrounds staff comment saying they themselves have seen it it IS in one layer.

Otherwise,it's useless...

well I suppose I can only speak for myself, but my parts didnt have movieclips with moving things in them, I just had them as movieclips because it was easier to select them. Im not changing anyone's mind though, so I'll stop trying.

Allow me to clarify that I wasn't accusing everyone of using movie clips. However, the collab author even admitted there were indeed movie clips within this fla.
Many of the parts clearly had content created on multiple layers. As was already admitted, some used movie clips, and perhaps others that appeared to be following the guidelines were made using many layers and then converted to keyframes on a single layer (which is easy enough to do through a variety of processes), but that might as well be cheating. It's the same as putting them all in a movie clip and slapping it on a single layer and saying, "Haha! Look at me! I made this on only one layer!"

Which is, again, the point of my criticism: using a handicap which only made your movie worse and you hardly came close to overcoming, and not only that but many of your members cheating on the handicap and still creating sub-par results, in order to gain score.

Congrats to those of you who produced quality material and did so all on one layer throughout the entire creative process and used no movie clips whatsoever and still overcame that challenge and created a good piece.

TO ALL PEOPLE WHO WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT US USING MOVIECLIPS:

I admit I have been useing movieclips too. This was allowed, but only if they had just one layer (obviously). The reason why I used movie clips is because my fla and swf file sizes were getting way too big. My part with the fbf for instance, had a 75MB fla file and a 5MB swf file, without the use of clips. So I was 'forced' to use clips, so that the file's size would decrease. I just wanted people to understand!

LISTEN TO PYROW, and to the non-believers, stop complaining and stop saying: "Its a halo thing 1/4 was made in one layer" yeah maybe it was, but there are only one layer inside our movie clips.

I'm very tired of talking and arguing and fixing, I have better stuff to do. Helang, I don't know if I'll be able to fix your part. I'm terribly sorry, I didn't notice, but the best evidence that I liked your part and stuff is that you're co-authored.

Dude, I'm never going to make a collab again 'till I learn more about making them. I've forgot to co-author people, forgot parts and had terrible problems with the file and everything. I'm so sorry.

Were we aloud to add layers in to movie clips, I didn't do that, all my movie clips were just one layer.
I have a 3.00 Ba so I could start a collab if I wanted, not the One Layer Collab 2 though.

You won't learn anything that way. Everyone's first collab goes horribly wrong. You just got to try again and apply the lessons you learned with this go to the next attempt.
If you give up after every sour happening, you won't get anywhere.

Yeah, I'm just encouraging him to try again. That's the best way to learn. Trial and error.

I don't think I can recover Lee's part, because when I made the flash, I only exported it, never saved it, because if I saved, the file would be ruined. But seriously, Helang got MUCH BETTER when he switched to 30 fps! He should really continue this way, much smoother and nice!

I think I'll make a collab again sometime. I have a cool idea. But when I make that, I'll PM the authors i want to join and make a forum just for us... Like.
