I'm not particularly fond of either of them, but Howard would do a much better job.

They both suck.
Howard is a liar and Kevin Rudd can't manage our economy and his environmental policy sucks.
I mean, he doesn't want to fund research into clean coal - HELLO??!! That's the future of green energy, Australia NEEDS to produce coal to maintain a strong economy so if we're not going to be burning the coal here in Australia, then it's going to be burned overseas - Last time I checked, we share the same atmosphere as China... Clean coal might not be as clean as solar power, but it would be clean enough to insure that we maintain ecological sustainability whilst maintaining our strong economy.
I like Kevin Rudd's intentions more than Howards, but I fear that there isn't enough brain on their side to get them through to achieve their true goals.

So Alphabit I guess your voting for Rudd, but is clean coal all that's going to determine your vote?
I want labour to win because Howard follows Bush too much.

Why the fuck wouldn't you.
Australia has shit-all in terms of defence, and if we were invaded by say, China, we would not stand an ice cube's chance in hell of coming out alive. Sure Bush is an idiotic arsehole, but I consider him that big friend you hang around for protection, despite secretly despising him.

Australia's so isolated and has so little natrual resources (except mining) we don't desperately need defence, the defence force we have could protect us from any real threat.

Why would China invade Australia?
The one thing force produces is resistance.

I honestly think people are looking BEYOND labor and liberal; for years they've been buying the electorates off with interest rates etc.
As such, parties like Family First, then Greens and Lifestyle and Fishing party are getting a LOT more popular than usual.
I would know; I've been out and about Rankin ALL DAY, with my Dad, the Family First candidate for that electorate. :P
