What the fuck happened?!

Newgrounds used to be the chillest place to come to all the time and find something awesome, whether it be a flash or a topic about something random.

Now though, it seems full of not so great flashes, and most of the good members have left, leaving this place to have a majority of users that are nothing more than underage, loudmouth fucks.

I don't know what happened but this shit used to be so much different.

Don't get me wrong though on everyone and everything, some of the flashes are awesome and some of the better users are still around but for the majority of it all, Newgrounds has gone to shit when compared to what it once was.

Hate to say it but it has to be said. :/

So, what changes has everyone else experienced besides the obvious ones?

They've not left, you'll see them post occasionally, it's the loudmouth fucks that keep them in the shadows.

Some have left for sure though, I've talked to a few on AIM and while they weren't regs on general, they were on my previous home, the C&C.

I do notice though that most good members only post occasionally now, kinda sucks really. :/

Newgrounds has had some things for what seems to be forever now, such as the spam, hate, flaming, etc.. but it seems to have lost its funny edge that it once had over the other sites.

I remember when topics were here everyday about pointless crap but it was funny pointless crap. :D

And saying me doing this won't make things better is true, which is why topics like this are basically rants in disguise.

Well newgrounds was bound to die eventually. What do you expect when you give users the freedom to say anything they want? People will flame and ridicule to no end, which will drive good users away which destroys the community as a whole. To bad to sad, the fact is Newgrounds has turned into crap and theres nothing we can do about it. Maybe if we got some moderaters and rules, but I doubt long time users can adapt to any restrictions in freedoms. Which would lead to some long time users being banned and leaving, so either way the site is doomed...

Most of the mods have gone to great lengths to try and control certain problems but people will disobey rules and do as they wish. Others will follow suit as mindless drones and well.. its either ban the majority and lose lots of people or sacrifice the few and cut your losses.

I can't say that the mods didn't try, they do what they can but they are only human, just like us.

As of right now I rarely come to Newgrounds like I used to, I could personally care less about what happens here but I do wish the ones who really enjoy this place luck on seeing it return to its once glorious form.

Everyone wants to belong to the 1%, so they try to piss as high as they can. Problem is they do not strive to earn what it takes to belong to the 1%. And so they crap on the site.

Fine, I'm an '07 user. And frankly, there's so much crap on this site, that I'd be happy -- no, joyous -- if I find something awesome. It's rare (I usually look around the NGAP) to find good songs because: 1. there are so many upvoting contributors, and 2. the good ones get downvoted to oblivion.

And now I wonder... what if I was here years ago? Would the percentages be different?
