Apparently it happened recently, as google has cached pages that show his profile as being normal up until just less than a week ago:

That's kind of weird to just not have a profile. I'd assume you would have to request that kind of thing, since it would be odd for the admins to just take away your profile, and your ability to have news posts and everything that having a profile allows... just to redirect you to another page.

Two things.

1. This was an actual problem - there was a funky re-write going on for some pre-redesign stuff we'd been testing prior to the userpages even existing.

2. You make news posts from your account management, not your userpage, so that's irrelevant - he'd have been able to make the post during the redirect stuff.

Then, someone ELSE comes along the next day to report that it's fixed.

So now you have 11 random people all randomly deciding to join together in this huge conspiracy to trick no one in particular... Yeah, that makes perfect sense. And no one had any "proof" because it wasn't something that needed to be proven to anyone. If people came along when it was still like that, they could see the proof themselves, if people came along afterwards, it wouldn't matter, the situation has been handled. It's also not something you could just take a screenshot of. You'd have to take a video capture of the page redirecting when clicking a link, and even then, you could easily fake that, so there was nothing we COULD do if we even wanted to to "prove" to you that this happened.

NG cool points lasted much longer than a day, and many mods, and many user were in on it, much more so than 11.
