Yeah right, it is more fun to stay at home and heckle the hypocracy in the protesters. For example, something like this springs easlly to mind.
You don't like trees cut down but you live in a wood house. You don't like gold mining but you wear gold jewelry. You don't want people to drill for oil yet you drive a car.
You, yes you are as big a part of the problem as everyone else. Just because you belong to the Sierra club does not make your shit less toxic. Just because you march in parades to save a river from being used for irrigation does not mean you use less food to live. The only diffrence is that you are insufferably self righteous about it.
Who do you think powers these mega corporations the rape and loot the earth. Do you think it is a small cabal of evil men sinisterly plotting the fall of the planet while linning their own pockets? Who made the shoes you're wearing? What about that computer your looking at? Or the chair you are sitting at? An evil corporation is behind all of these and you are feeding them by supporting and buying their products.
You are feeding the machine that you claim will destroy the world. At least have the common decentcy to shut the fuck up so the rest of us don't have to hear your indignent prattle.

Raptor: Right on!
Anarch: Well, it depends upon which rose coloured glasses you want to wear. Here's one set:
These countries have had autonomy for at least thirty years in most cases, and have made a complete fuck up of it worse than the west ever could have by installing their own local two bit dictators and military juntas that bleed the people dry, sell out to the highest bidder, and generally engage in a whole range of corrupt activities.
Furthermore, I bet you'd argue for the erasure or world debt. There's nothing like renegging on loans. Let's say all the debt did get erased though. What would happen then? Would the west ever lend to them again? I wouldn't. It would be mad. So, these countries would be forced to fend for themselves anyway.
The whole thing is a joke whichever way you look.
What solution would you propose?
Oh, one more thing...
If the west is supposed to take its filthy money and political interference away, then it can also take its filthy medical aid and intervention for human rights issues too.
I doubt anyone would really want that though. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Raptor: So what you are saying that instead of showing our views and getting people to our point of view, we should sit at home and make everything ourselves? Big corperations have too much control over our life for us to shut them out, all we can hope to do is get them replaced by something better.
Shorbe: The problem for third world countries is not that they can't pay back what they borrowed it's they can't pay back the intrest. The countries governments used the money to build a big capital, which only the rich could afford, now to pay off the debts they are letting big buisness exploit the poor, in other words they have the majority of the population, working for the minority.

Slizor: I realise the interest is the problem. However, why would someone lend to someone without them paying interest? The person loaning the money could lend it to someone else and make more money. Also, if the borrower were to default on the loan, they would not even regain their money, let alone make any from it.
Irresponsible financial management is neithert the faul, nor the responsibility, of the lender.

In what way do you intend to get noticed? Please don't go the path of the Sydney M1 protestors & go into senseless frenzied destruction, it does nothing for you or cause, The M1 protestors who claimed such righteosness even went as low as to beat the police horses, even the ones without riders, they even attempted to imolate mounted police men with petrol, Vandalism doesn't hurt the company, if you for example trash a McDonald's it means nothing to them, they don't feel it but who you are really fucking over is the poor local franchisee.

Presumably, with a revolution, they could get themselves somewhat back on track if they deposed the corrupt leaders of the country.
Of course, I believe all revolutions are doomed to fail in the end though, so I don't think it would make much difference.

You know what group pisses me off lately?
Greenpeace.
They selectively choose the data they recieve and protest just for the sake of giving the lives of their members meaning.
I used to support their stances in the 80s but as of late, they have gotten too far.

i propose that the IMF/World Bank make sure that the money they loan goes to certain institutions that would generate money in order to...
1. pay back the debt
and
2. get these countries on their feet
