Why the fuck are people so fucking touchy about genres? Who gives a fuck if Name is Genre or Genre, does it really matter.

Because he tried to correct someone about it. If you are going to correct someone, you should be correct.

I care to an extent when someone gets a genre wrong. It can be harmful for getting them into a genre. One of my friends hates Marilyn Manson and "that Goth nonsense". I try very hard to get him to understand that he is Industrial Rock, not Goth and I let him hear Goth Rock.

Genres are very handy for indicating to someone what something sounds like, that is why it is important. I'm not saying it's a crime to be wrong, but if I got muddled with genres, I would like to be told.
