I'll join. Read the manga, seen the anime, watched the films. After watching the English subbed version twice, I'm too scared to listen to the dub. Honestly, I already know they fucked up all of the voices.

But yeah, my favourite character is L, I never really liked Light that much, sub-conciously I was always hoping he'd lose.

The entire series was satisfactory though, but like most people, I agree that the series is best at first. But it's still great through.

ill join i watch a few subs but mostly i watch the dub on CN cause im to lazy to find sub versions plus reading the little font hurts my eyes after a while but i already know the jist of the story and the ending so the episodes are like really interesting filler to me

as for Light hes a Anti-hero because hes sorta evil yet not completely but he is still the protaganist

If you were japaneese and didn't know any english and a friend told you they watched the jap verison you would say: "Watch the american dub, better voice acting"

Its a mind trick where instantely any language you don't know even with subitiles to read along with the language automatically sounds better. Its very rare that the dub actors really do deserve to die in a fire.

You have a point, smc... but I still think that the subbed voice acting is better.

How good are the films btw? I want to watch them, well buy and watch really.

Yeah I always wanted L to win, after episode 25/chapter 37 (I believe) the show was downhill of course. Near and Mello were meh. Still I loved the ending, it was quite beautiful.

Well of course they would do if you haven't witnessed the great Japanese voice actors first! Seriously it's worth reading the episodes just for their voices.

But if they sound ok to you, then yeah watch the dubs.

Know what? With all this talk about subbed/dubbed voice acting, lets start ANOTHER DEBATE!

Do you think the dubbed or subbed has better voice acting?

Oh lord, I can't stand the dub. Honestly, in my opinion, the actors sound pretty awful. Light sounds like a twelve year old whiny bitch.

The biggest disgrace is Ryuk's voice.

He sounds too high-pitched.

Light's voice is crap, but liked Ryuk's voice.

the voices seem fine to me. but being forced by my lil' brother to listen to the fucking annoying voice of Naruto every Saturday, anything would be fine.

i'd like to join. and for those who are watching the series on Adult Swim (as i am,) Youtube is a damned awesome source.

Sorry, it looks like I can't. I've searched all over the internet for the Death Note movie, and the only one I could find had incredibly small subtitles.

Alright guys, time for ANOTHER DEBATE (SPOILERS)

Do you think that N will become as smart as L? I think he might, he's obviously a young child, can't be older than 12, and L must be over 18, so do you think that N will become as smart as L?

Well at the time when Near and Mello were going after Kira they were both around the age of 18-20 and L was around that age when he died so I'd say they are on the same level if not L is above Near. But given time Near will become better than L thanks to that idiot Mikami fucking up the last kill in the note and exposing Light as Kira.
