Just because you're a musically challenged asshole does not mean you have to be a musically challenged asshole to everybody else.

Anywho, I play the trombone, and despite what anyone else says, it's an important instrument, especially in jazz bands, where it often sets and keeps the tempo. I've never had any complaints about the range, and I find there's a certain comraderie with trombone players.

It's also the loudest instrument. According to my former band teacher (who got arrested the other day), he said that it was tested with a jet engine, and it was louder.

You believe a kiddyfiddler? pssh :P

and it's true that there's a comraderie between tromboners, though they tend to think they're better than anyone else

Ah yes, its time to show my love for classical music!

Here a few links from the Classical Portal.

Super Mario Land Orch. Ver
Hyrule Field Orch. Ver.

Here a video game song, but you have to love Nintendo right?

Welcome to Kraid, oh and listen to the entire song first before you think the first 7 seconds were bad. This song is pretty high rated atm.

Kind of off the recent topic but.... What's your guitar preference?

A question that has been asked a lot over time...

Pick, or no Pick?

Sure, a pick has it's benefits. Pluck a string with more power, play chords without tearing up your fingers, play those pesky razors that are the bottom strings without slicing your fingers off.

But, you cant pick 3 strings at opposite ends of the spectrum as you can with no pick, hence the Index, Ring and Pinky 3 string pluck that so many guitarist perfect (Stairway to heaven, anyone?)

So, if you play guitar or an stringed instrument like it, what's your preference?

I do both. I use a pick on a guitar more often than I don't. I never play bass with a pick.

Heh, speaking of fur elise, I can play that on my guitar (I play it with distortion, because that's the only way for a metalhead like me to play a song like that).

AMEN!

im officially joining because of this kid right here.

low brass is underappreciated--I play euphonium primarily and trombone secondarily, and i also like to fiddle around with vibraphones--and I agree.

trombones actually have a better high range, in a sense, than euphonium as well; or rather, the transition between the really high notes is easier in comparison, at least by my experience.
