You can make a siggy (primitive-o) with MS Paint, or make a better one with Photoshop.
Here's my (crappy) Keyboard take. Sorry but I threw it together in a few minutes.

So, has anyone played a banjo? I have a 100 year old one. It's kinda fun.

I have, didn't care for it. Too high pitched... but it's good for country rocking, I guess.

So, instead of making this a "Post your shitty jpeg compressed pictures of instruments" ms paint thread, how about some actual musical discussion?
Does anyone here play jazz? How good are you? What are your improvising techniques?
I've only been playing Jazz seriously for 3 years now. I'm pretty good at most stuff, and I have a great range, but I really suck at improvising so I try to avoid it mostly. I'm not good at applying theory to when I play, therefor I always fuck up to chords and scales I'm supposed to improv off of.
Banjos: Nah. I never liked the sound of them.
I'm your average Afro-American fetus. For example: I enjoy basketball, I'm rather good when I play too, but I'm much too busy scratching my horrific cracked skin these days.

I played piano in the school jazz band last year, and I hope to do so again this year. I don't know if I should try out for bass, though. Jazz isn't the number one thing that I practice, and I don't have much of improvising techniques. I do like to play it, though.

Jazz was never the thing for me. I've tried playing jazz for a few years when i was 12, i was a bad little kid back then. Never tried to learn how to play the actualy jazz or blues.
Though if technique is what your after, i think you have to start on minor notes and such.

Jazz, when I was in 8th grade there was a school jazz band, I played Bass in it. I was never really good at following a set music so I improvised a lot, as we played slower music it gave me the chance to really work on a slow beat thing that I use today, even in faster music. But I generally stayed away from Jazz outside of the band and eventually got tired of playing as rythem and started playing Guitar.

Agreed Sir-Fart-Alot, though it'd would be nice to help the guy out, i already tried, but the only thing i found was on youtube "how to play with Professionals".
It was basically some chick downloading a software where she see's what the professional muscian plays as i mean nots w\e, then she tries to play along. I was going to add a link but wasn't sure if it'll help.

Found this little gem wandering around youtube.
It really shows how Jazz can be slow and meaningful but then this this shows just the opposite, it's a real Ray Charles classic. I did a report on him in 8th grade and leaned how to play the bass in this song (which you can barely hear over the trumpet) and we performed it at one of the school functions.
