What is your favorite ancient civilization? I am not talking about modern civilizations like United States or Canada.

I personally like Ancient India. They had draining and were ahead of their time. Too bad we never found out why they suddenly disappeared.

Not ancient, not modern, but I quite like studying the Middle Ages, it's always fascinating to me, and it's the only age I can be arsed to learn about.

For a perfectly ancient civilisation though, I'd have to say the completely unoriginal Ancient Egypt. Even though I've learned about it many, many times throughout my school life, I always find something new and interesting.

How Ancient are we talking? If only a couple of hundred years then i´d say Samurai, if more like a few thousand id say either the British or the Scandanavians. Romans were bastards.

Aztecs. At school we had to choose an ancient civilisation and do a report on it. We got to choose from four different civilisations, one of them being Aztec. I was the only one who chose Aztec (everyone else chose stuff they'd heard of like Greece or Rome). It was great, they used to cut out people's hearts and make big mounds of organs, and sacrifice people.

The Mayans.

I don't think any of the people over in Europe could perform brain surgery and have people live to tell the tale.

I have nothing to say that is at all relevant.

Ancient Greece, all the way.

I would say the Vikings, but they're not very ancient.

I'd love to hear from you. :3 | E-Mail: evansweeney@gmx.com | AIM: EvantheDeku | Oh dear, Dekuboy is back..

I don't know if this is a civilization, or a raiding party, but the Mongolians were the fucking best. They had advanced attacking skills, and could take down any city in Asia, at one point.

I find ancient Asian cultures to be rather fascinating.

It may be because they were just so ahead of their time.

Apparently it's pronounced Chingis according to the experts.

I'd have to go with the ancient Egyptians or the Greeks myself.

The Spartans were pretty fucking cool too.

Hmmm........The Aztecs Incas were also awesome.

I don't know.

Im going with Romans. Mainly because they had gladiators and an awesome army (Shame they expanded too fast). Either that or Greece.

For a moment there, I thought we were in a topic about ancient civilization.

Most Western scholars use the fall of the Western Roman Empire in AD 476 as the end of ancient European history.

The first Holy Roman Emperor was considered to be Charlemagne, crowned on 25 December 800.

The Romans were one of the most advance civilizations of all time. They invented plumbing, modern medicine, factories, stadiums, and even the power of steam at one point which was never remastered until the late 18th century.

The Egyptians had aqueducts long before the Romans and they've never been the sole contributors to plumbing by themselves. Many other places were developing plumbing as they were.
