Ok, i stumbled across a tutorial( http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/39 7196 ) and under the section chainsaw it has a wierd type of mask that i would like to know how to do. I tried looking it up but cannot find anything close to it.

I have Flash cs3 pro

Right-click on a layer and select "Mask". This will use the contents of the layer as a boundary (which will not be rendered) for anything below it. You can reorder layers on the time line to incorporate them into the masked layer.

Ok, I just went through that section of the tutorial and have no idea what you're talking about...Just use layers. Put the chainsaw on a layer behind the victim but infront of the killer.
