They are the only democracy in the middle east, also Israel is the gate that guards the entrance to the western world, without their strategic allience Israel would not be able to intercept terrorism from its roots in the middle east and the war on terror would have been a defensive battle inside our own homelands.

I understand how you feel, its difficult to have family lost in a conflict they are not involved in, however just as much loss happens on the Jewish side too. Hopefully will try and find a peaceful solution as quick as possible. BTW do you have a suggestion on how the conflict should be resolved? I would like to hear your perspective on it. Although I am Jewish, I am not proud of what they are doing in the gaza to civilians and have been trying to talk to the Jewish community about it. For the Jewish side, what needs to be done is to put pressure on Kenneset through petitions and religious sanctions to improve human rights in occupied territories as the Palestinians, have moderates like yourself try to dissassociate from extremists and pressure peaceful resistance through means such as genuine media portrayal of violence, standing up to brutality without fighting back, form as much casual relations with Jews to help spread attention to the Jewish community, and engage in hunger strikes whenever your people try to retaliate with violence. Its a tough situation but hopefully peace will be obtained in the future. Shalom, Salaam, Peace.

Israel itself is actually a secular government that only calls itself Jewish in name, so you can't resemble the entire Jewish people by what Israel does. There are also Christians, Arabs, Druzes, Athiests, and Bedoins that also hold seats in their parlament and some of thier offices. So Israeli government is to Judaism as US government is to Christianity. They are almost entirely sepperate issues from each other with only vaugue resembalence.

When you explain it like that you could make the argument that this way of doing business has caused a lot of problems in the world, sure this is the dominant way business is conducted these days. I suggest you check out these websights and read all the details about their government. The only Arab country thats comes even close to a democracy is Lebenon, but their parlament is weak and practically useless with Hezbollah intimidating voters.

That website seams a little bias with the way they score countries, I mean Zimbabwe a brutal dictatorship, scored the same as Egypt, I mean withholding elections is undemocratic but taking peoples land demolishing their houses and leaveing them with no compensation is even worse. Very informative thaough. Also figured Amercia wouldn't have got the best score since that cokehead bush wasn't elected in the first place and the patriot act.

Well, most people just pretend to hate them to be funny. People at my school always joke around by calling eachother Jews, which can get very annoying.

The websight does not give the best score for the US in press freedom, as countries in europe seem to score better.

Jews, much like any other ethnic/religious/cultural grop, have positive and negative examples of their achievements.

I didn't know that, but that seems reasonable. People in Europe at that time saw the plague as infallible and unstoppable (I can't blame them), but there are actually quite a few examples of societies avoiding the plague. Poland issued a strict quarantine, and thus avoided the plague very well.

I understand that Jews are smart, clever, shrewed, and now possess a nation with a mighty army to protect us. But still Jews cannot survive alone in this world with just one nation to protect them no matter how strong their military, it's also essentual for our survival and the advancement of our culture that we try to preserve our mutual relations with Gentile society. There are no Jews without Gentiles and there are no Gentiles without Jews. If we recluse ourselves from the world from other cultures, we would never be prosperous people in the first places.
