Lies? I learned about this in a Religion 200 lecture at Depaul University taught by a professor with a doctorate in religious studies and is also a Vincentian Catholic Priest himself. Your only source to support your fact is Hollywood? Thats very sad, I feel bad for the way your mother has deprived you of knowledge and culture. My suggestion, go learn some physics starting by watching The Matrix.

Long story short, a long, long time ago, in ancient Europe, there was Rome. The Romans controlled the Jews, but they wouldn't stop rebelling, so the Romans took all the Jews out of Israel and relocated them all across the Empire with the hopes that it would end their rebellions.

Most European people felt that it was a sin to charge someone interest on a loan, to trade goods, to sell goods you didn't make, or do some sort of job that worked just with the market. So Jews took those jobs.

Boom - the crusades. Many peasents wanted to go on the crusade, but could not afford the tools needed (sword, shield), so they borrowed money from the Jews. Jews, since they were brought to Europe, were scapegoats. They were burned when the Black Plague got out of control, were killed whenever something went wrong, and generally got the nasty end of band news.

Why modern people hate Jews is beyond me.
