yeah, but assuming that this collab is going to get 3.80 (judging by other B&W scores) It's unlikely that we'll get a daily anyway. We need to just focus on getting an award, full stop.

Why don't you just submit this thing? This movie will get what it deserves. If that means it won't get an award, doesn't matter.
What do you think is more important? For instance, a movie with a 2.30 score and a daily 5th or a movie without an award with a score of 3.9-4.1?

Besides, winning trophies is not what making flash is all about. Making flash, in my opinion, is doing the best you can and enjoying the result, not the awards. I'd rather work on a movie for 3 years, making it the best I can, and not win a trophy instead of making a part for this collab in 3 days and wait just to get a trophy out of it.

Also, getting better at flash is also determined by the way you look at the progress. If you make medium flash in 3 days to get an award, you're not going to improve much, or even improve at all.
On the other hand, if you work on a large project for a month or two months, then you'll learn a lot of new stuff while you're working on it. That hard work will be noticed by the viewer too.
But that's not even the point here. If you focus on putting a lot of effort in flash, doing the best you can and make flash for the sake of making them, the award will always be more valueble because in this case, the award is becoming better at flash.

Striving for the best possible outcome to become better is the way to go. Not making medium flash to win awards but still be medium.

I agree, but I dont think collabs are a bad thing for growth entirely. If you cant work with others then you're pretty much, well, I dunno, but its not good. at the same time, joining collabs to get awards is pretty shameful, because ya, awards dont really represent much.

however, the trophies do lay down a pretty good chance of frontpagement, and for me I think views are more important that awards, because people see your work. so I agree that fishhook shouldnt have submitted it yesterday because it would get underviewed since everyone was watching awesome six.

You know, i only joined BnW collab to test out my flash skills and try to work together with others. So Yeah just submit it today its not about the awards, i dont even care if we get a daily.
