This is not meant as an attack on any religion. I'm being as completely objective as possible.

I consider myself an Agnostic Christian.

For those not familiar with the team, Agnotism is the belief that an omnipotent, omnicient power responsible for the creation of exsistence is unlikely, if not impossible.

I lean towards thinking that an omnicient power is unlikely, but I have not ruled outright that there is no such power in the universe. We may not have a lot of proof of the exsistence of God, but let's take a similar arguement: some people believe that extraterrestrial life (aliens) exsist. We don't have much evidence, outside of eyewitness et al, that can prove the exsistence of alien life. However, just because we don't have conclusive evidence does not mean that aliens do not exsist.

Same thing with God: lack of evidence of his exsistence does not equate to evidence of his nonexsistence.

Simply, we don't have enough conclusive evidence that suggests that there is an omnicient power at work, and more work must go into this before we can conclude outright wether or not there is or isn't a God.

My skepticism may make people who are more religiously fanatical conclude that I have no morals because of my lack of belief in God. However, one does not need religion to have morals. Besides, there are many Christian vitues that I believe in, such as loving thy neighboor, and turning the other cheek.

So...... you're an agnostic. Jesus was a philosopher. Respecting his teachings does not make one Christian. Believing he is a deity is a different story entirely.

I chose to become an atheist after realizing that most things regarding religion are complete bullshit to me. I don't believe in any gods manking may worship, and while I do believe in some superior being of any sorts, I'm not gonna pull random details out of my ass to describe it.

Although I dont enbrace any religion and grew up with some Cristian influence, I choose to beleave that God is real because the thought of when we die, everything just goes black and we never see our loved ones again is appualing to me.

Well, not sure if I would really call you an atheist. Deist sounds better.

However, not naming or doing anything about this higher power, you are in all essence living an atheistic life, thus, I suppose the description is okay. :D

Well you know the teachings of Jesus teach how Christians to live their lives, but you must do the hole thing and not skimp over the worship part of that otherwise you can't really call yourself a Christian, you can call yourself an honest man with Christian morals but not a Christian unless you believe in Christ.

The simplest, most reasonable justifications I have yet found for Agnosticism is very easy to describe:

Imagine life with worshipping of a deity. Imagine life without worshipping a deity. Are you any worse off without the investment of time and money demanded by most religions in their worship? No, life is exactly as it would be otherwise, but with fewer costs to you.

Also, should you favor religion, which deity do you choose? There are hundreds of different religions, different deities. As with any choice with so many options, there is no discernable "correct" choice. Simply doing what your parents did is not a valid justification-- there's nothing to say they were right, either. The only truly valid position is to not choose a deity, for you can never choose the correct one due to lack of evidence for anyone.

i used to think like you guys "no scienfic evidence for existence of god" but once i started smokin a lotta pot i got into philosophy and pyschology a lot and shit. think, science is a creation of man, it explains the laws the keep our world in balance. but god is other worldly, hell if he's god, he could've just decided to not place any evidence for him to find out if he was there, so the true believers of his prophets would come through. think how amazing we are, just look at your hands, look at the human anatomy, we can never make something like that, it is absolutely amazing. the best we can make is guided by our creation, science, and we can't come anywhere close to artificial intelligence, let alone the creation of a species. so therefore, our science is much weaker than the powers that govern our world, so you can't use our science to determine something that is way over it's head. i have much more arguments so keep these coming, i love talking about this and i want to hear what you guys got to say.

As you yourself has said, one could believe in a natural higher power; aliens for example.
