I searched for the Jersey Devil, and was surprised to see very few links to the Playstation video game or the Hockey team.

Hello, i have just two things to say.
1) What is everyones belief on traditional theory? the international relations theory that since ww2 the US has used to dictate its foreign policy... is it worth keeping or should it be changed since the soviet union has collapsed?
2) can i join?

ok... let me ask another way.
When approaching International Relations, how would you do things?
Here are some theories on the subject: Traditional- basically, the world will always seek to make a balance of power. Yet the world has been unipolar for over 10 years with no sign of an other force rising as of yet.
Modernist- these guys think more outside the box, like the world is so interdependent that no states will militarily balance out the US, due to any cold relations will hurt economically... the big fears should be diseases, computer viruses, terrorists...
so far thats the only two that i know of...

That's close. I think the US is the best and the rest can eat shit, then help themselves to seconds. Your question is an odd one, more about politics and that's not my strong point.

you know, in theory communism isnt all that bad. the one thing that true and pure communism has over capitalism is that everybody sleeps in the palace and eats and has the basic necesities for survival, whereas in capitalism its people vs people. as long as people are people, communism will never work. and it actually works out better with capitalism anyway. i guess im partial to capitalism. long story short, killing all communists would create more problems than it would solve.

What about the European Union?? They're population total is somewhere around 800 million (we were #3 by population after China and India) but of course as soon as they joined they started dropping value but if we ever went up against them we wouldn't stand a chance... at least I think we wouldn't... not that I wouldn't fight... besides we're not at war with them anyway!!! :-{

well...im not a fan of our current government, however, as good of an idea as it sounds, we cant just abandon the global economy. i understand leaving foreign affairs like all this iraq bullshit-im all for it, hell i think we should just go back to isolationism, but we're too involved in the global economy, and ironically the rest of the world may hate us now, but theyll hate us even more if we leave everybody else alone

Why do things that look good on paper (communism, cold fusion, the Titanic) usually fail when they're tried?

Worry about that if time-travel is ever invented, chances are it won't happen in our lifetimes.

if time travel is ever invented, it will have existed since the beginning of time... since if someone comes up with it they will probably go back in time and in that case time-traveling will exist in that time. wich means if someone ever invents it, we would have had it for a long time now.
wich makes me sceptical to that it is even possible

Um, haven't America had the same policy all the time. Just changed the wording to make it seem different. At the core hasn't it been that they just want to turn every country into American outposts. Mind you with American multi-national corperations they may do it.

Well time travel also helps the theory of multi dimentions. If someone did go back in time and say killed Hitler we'd never notice something was different because we'd exist in a timeline where that had always been true.

then if it would someday be possible, each time you make a voyage in time, you would create an alternate dimension. wich also means that you could never get back to your "own" dimension.
and then again if there is only one dimension and you go back in time, and say, killed your parents. then of course you would never exist, and if you don't exist then you never killed your parents, and you are still there. wich means that you in fact, if timetravel is invented are not able to kill your parents.

Well, the dimentions are already there. If you did travel back in time and get shunted to one of these dimentions then you wouldn't worry because it would feel as if you'd always been there.
Oh and same for the parents thing.

have you been to another dimension? this is about theories right? dont get me wrong, but you say it like its an absolute fact...
anyway i'm not really a believer in timetravel, but if someone invents it someday, feel free to tell me yesterday ;)

If time travel in the future, wouldn't they be mature enough to realise that if they came back in time, they could mess up something. (so they'll probably have laws against traveling backwards through time, with some kind of time police)

Also, a criminal could travel forward to the day after the statute of limitations for his crime expire (after the statute of limitations expires, you cannot be arrested and prosecuted for your crimes)
