How do you change the format of a flash movie so it can be a .mpg or .avi or any format that can be played in Windows Media Player. I know that if you go to publish and you can pick which one but the ones that I want isn't listed, there are only flash, html, mov, and some others that can't be opened in Media Player.

Well, usually the flash forum for the actual usage of flash. Might as well just answer his question and be done with it.

I don't know which Flash version you are using but on Flash 8 you go: File - Export... - Export Movie... OR ctrl + alt + shift + s, Save as type: Windows AVI (*.avi). I remember that Flash MX had this option too.

I did the export movie way but the quality is pretty bad, what settings should be used since I really don't want to keep trying different settings over and over waiting 5 mins everytime for it to be exported.

Try these settings, just change the dimensions to the size of your movie.
