Who showed you/why did you join?

Today sombody asked me where I got the sticker on the front of my chem binder ( it was angry faci ) and I said I ordered them from this website I go to called newgrounds.com So I started thinking about who first showed me NG and why I joined.

For me my friend eric showed me NG. I liked the movies but I stayed for the numerous porn banners back in the day and eventually registered and the rest is history.

So what about you guys? ( espically some of the more experienced users ) Who first showed you NG and what made you stay?

I originally followed a link from sfdt.com back in the day, I didnt join till 03 because i was far too young, my post count is low because i lurk lots...

WEll, I stumbled upon this site. First, I found a site called OneMoreLevel.com (my friend showed me it) and from there I found andkon.com and I found NG from there.

Well, My cousin CJ showed my way back in '04 or '05, and I visited occasionally untill mid '06, when I really bagan using NG more. That's when I signed up.

my borther let me play the game "create a ride" when i was seven and a few celebrity shooting games...i recently joined because i had been contemplating it for a while and finally i went to the forum absoloutly LOVED THE ENVORMENT and the lulz that the users bring that's why i signed up

When I was trying to look up Mario-based flashes, I found this site, back in 2005. I didn't make an account until 06, forgot my password (I've recently found it), and made an entirely new account in early 2007 (this one).

I discovered NG myself in early 06 when I was playing this game from NG and it linked me to Newgrounds, so I thought, what the hell, and I clicked on the link. I didn't sign up till Dec 06 because I forgot what the site was called.

I was introduced to this site in sixth grade by my friend, he showed me my first flash "foamy rants about katrina"
and was funny, but I never returned to this site

so browsing the net, I just played game sites like armorgames, addictinggames and others.
soon, I found out about Newgrounders from, I think, armorgames
so I went to this site for games, then soon after, I created my account and now I'm a regular here

A friend of mine introduced me to Newgrounds back in 2001-2002.

He showed me 'Brutality'. As a Dragonball Z fan, I was blown away.

Way back when I was 11 years of age, my older sister discovered "Foamy the Squirrel" on Newgrounds. I paid it no mind, however I did spend countless hours on NG watching Foamy.

I then stopped going to Newgrounds after my computer caught a virus, because I thought it was Newgrounds that caught it (I now learned it was from a pop-up I accidentally clicked, whoops). Two summers ago, I was bored, and remembered Newgrounds from my recent past. I went on, signed up, posted on the BBS, and here I am, one and a half years later, with my childhood destroyed, thanks to Newgrounds. :D

I was a fan of homestar runner and I found homestarwiki. I looked through the sightings section. I found newgrounds with a few flash cartoons, one of them being ruppeeclock's numa sprita dance. I watched it and I was hooked on numa numa and newgrounds. Eventually I made an account to make reviews.

Well, I have known that Newgrounds.com existed for a LOONNNNG time, but my brother encouraged me to join. So, after about 5 years of knowing that the site was up I joined... I have never been happier ^ _ ^.

Unfortunately I could be like level 40 if I knew how the site worked in '01...

you know the EGM? The magazine? there was a link to a flash- about mario. It was called revenge of Mushroom Kingdom, or something, and I watched it... ON a different site.

and in the... second one, I think... There was a part in it where the tombstones in the graveyard have website names.

One of those was Newgrounds.

and.... the rest is history.

my friend told me how fucking funny foamy was and that it was on this site, i came, realised foamy sucks toatall ass and decided really quickly to look for somthing not retarded and i found B.

Back in 5th grade, a friend of mine told me about a site where there was a cartoon of Mario and Sonic fighting eachother.

This was obviously back in the day when NG had really fucked up ads, and my mom found out I had been going here.

I never returned to Newgrounds again.

In this computer class I used to go to, along with all the stick flash websites that were popular at the time, Newgrounds was on the list of banned websites. I didn't really know what it was so this of course, made me quite curious. I went here and saw some pretty funny flashes (I believe the first flash I saw was Arfenhouse) and then made an account a few months later :o

My cousin showed me some of the games, but I can't remember what year. I know it was at least early 2002 because I remember create a ride being updated. Other than that I have no way to tell when I first found out about the site.

I signed up to have more voting power. I had dial-up so watching anything took forever and I was too stupid to just vote on 5 submissions without viewing them.

2002, I found a flash on google called super mario splat, it linked me to ebaums. I hanged out there for a month or two and followed a link here to newgrounds.

Why is my sign up date in '07 then and not '02? Because then I had no interest in uploading any flash/audio, making audio and flash reviews, going on the BBS, using the whistle to flagg abusive stuff or voting.

wel, i just signed up in august, but i have been here for a while. i first went to addictinggames, and then stayed there for a while, then stickpage, then tons of sites, then i fell upon NG. the rest is history.
