can you really say your drawing yourself when your doing a manga form? i mean...you dont have hair color...or eye color...skin color...the faces and noses all look the same...the hair maybe, but its the only thing that can be changed to look like people...(in case you havent noticed...i dont like anime/manga form of drawing unless its very very good...)

I hope so. I'm trying to get into an Interactive Arts program, but that will be awhile cause I have to get credits and that shit lol.

Well that bites monkey, I would say to try for (your deviant saws located in canada) some art schools out in the U.S. California has quite a few good ones, AI's are across the country and theres supposed to be a good one in rhode island. Funny enough, It would be good to have American anime art that is just as good as japenese, it would help that areas of business.

I decided on a university cause I heard its pretty good and geting there is no problem too. But thanks for the advice and for enjoying my work. You're one of the few people who take notice on the forums. I seem to get easily overshadowed by shitty art(MSpaint >_>) threads lately.

You have to remember, people now a days look for the laughs, not the astonishing stuff. I am trying to get into more graphic design. I know it's not anime but i think i'll throw it in here. The thing that makes me appreciate people like you who can do good anime, is that i used to be into that, and my drawings failed horribly.

that is quite true that people are just looking for laughs
and also i cant understand how people use ms paint and others like it
its not art it more of showing off how able you can use a crappy program. man i also hated using wmm it sucked at making movies! now i have vegas and when you go there you dont want to stop.
anyways that is good art work and me myself i try my best to do my own original art. But what i hate most is that people can still art and music videos that other people have put their blood sweat anger and tears to and post it/ upload it and say they did it! what are they trying to do impress the polic and their boss that they are incapable of even doing anyting? For all i care they Can go to Hades HELL AND ROT! but anyways getting of of my one traced mind. thanks for posting latly and you you are all doing a great job. i guess i wont need to make a pic of me and the charator i made being hung. and please people try to come up with a name for my half blooded unname charator! hey you use like photo shop to color your pictures that you suposibly draw. even though i suck at coloring i am still trying to color one of the pics i drew. Icypop23 do you have any hints tips or stratigys to like coloring a picture? i think i have my pic rendered somewhere to show what i have.

Um, I'm not the best person to explain things lol.

I use the smudge tool with a soft brush to achieve the smooth look, for larger areas I use a larger brush and I generally set the strength to 25-35% depending on how big I'm coloring a certain part.. For shadows I just use a darker tone compared to the base color, set it to multiply, and if its too dark I hit Ctrl+U to adjust the saturation or lightness of the shadows to a more desired tone.

Experience and practice plays a big part also. Hope that helps.

I've only been doing this for two days, so enjoy my crappy 11 year old art(OMG I'm 11! :O) I may color this later, this took me 40 min, and is done in pen, not pencil so I had to be very carefull, and yes I know one eye is a little bigger than the other
