The term perpetual motion taken literall refers to movement that goes on forever. This is possible in the theoretical understanding of physics as in Newtons First Law of Motion

from my newspost/my faq:

"A Vagrant is someone without a profile (in the old Newgrounds), if you didnt have any reviews or posts etc, you were a vagrant. But now, you can find a users userpage by typing their username in the address bar like here:

<insert username>.newgrounds.com

replace "<username>" with the user's NG username. You can change from a vagrant to a Newgrounds User by adding just ONE of the following:

1) A News post
2) Your Audio Submissions
3) Favorite Audio Submissions
4) Favorite Audio Authors
5) Your Flash Submissions (including collabs that you didn't submit)
6) Favorite Flash Submissions
7) Favorite Flash Authors"

You could have reviews and posts and still be a vagrant. Your vagrancy only ended when you decided to make a public profile, but up until then, you could still do anything you wanted on the site that didn't have to do with editing your profile. Including submitting flash, posting, reviewing, blamming/protecting... The only difference is that no one could see those stats without a profile.

I remember some people that were rather high leveled and didn't have profiles. As well as some people that even submitted flash. Instead of leading to a profile when you went to their user ID, it led to a black page that had a list of their flash submissions. I can't get a link to it now, since all of the number ID pages were removed with the redesign, and archive.org never really archived profiles.

It also seems like your information on how to leave vagrancy is incorrect as well.

I took a random Vagrant from the forum at the moment: Darth-Jonathus.

On his userpage he has a favorite flash movie, some favorite audio submissions, and a favorite audio artist.

Another vagrant, AKP, actually has a userpage pic... So that's just confusing. But I guess since the user page pic was moved to a separate "user images" section, that doesn't count towards editing your userpage.

It's most likely that the only way to get out of vagrancy is adding/changing things in the "General Information" section of your account. Since the 5 vagrant accounts I just looked at trying to find information as to what removes the vagrant status of your account all have neutral auras, this backs up the "General Information" changing aspect. I haven't found any with flash/audio submissions or news posts, so those may also contribute. But when it comes to favorites, it doesn't seem to take you out of vagrancy.

The point is... Don't lose your dinosaur.

Right after I posted that "ShaneOfDeath" appeared on the BBS and is a vagrant. And he has multiple news posts.

So now it's just a question of flash/audio submissions.
