Political humor son!
Thought the Rushmore ones weren't all that bad. Got killed in NY and burned pretty bad at Colombia.
Them Arkansas boys didn't know jack....too far south to have ever been to Canada. I would've been all over the dollar question.....
A nice little brain teaser, he uses very precise wording and sort of a status as an authority figure to get em to believe the stuff he said. Fun stuff.

for those who don't know I will give a brief lesson as to why some of these are funny.
Saskatchewan Seal hunt/Calgary Seal Hunt - Saskatchewan and Albert (the province in which Calgary is located) are land locked provinces, so its impossible to hunt seals simply because there are none
Toronto Polar bear Slaughter - Toronto has a similar latitude of Boston, the closest polar bears are hundreds and hundreds of miles away.
The Prime Minister winning a double-double - This is not a political term, but a coffee order. A double double is 2 sugar 2 cream. When going to Tim Horton's (also another joke he makes), which owns like 50% of the coffee market in Canada is is a cultural icon you simply say I want a double double and they give you your coffee.
East Timor and West Edmonton - West Edmonton is the name of a mall, the largest mall in North America and has an indoor amusement park and is located as the name suggests in the western part of Edmonton (the capital of Alberta).

Well I expect canadians to think lightly of us if this is the type of coverage given.
Our growing dependence on laws only shows how uncivilized we are.

Hey, it's only fair. Americans make fun of Canadians all the time (PS: me = proud Canadian :P).
The thing to remember about this though, as awesome as it is (I didn't watch the clip, but I've seen both parts before), is that there were many people who had perfectly reasonable reactions to Mercer's questioning. They just didn't get put in the video.
There was one quote, though, that had me ROFL-ing for a good ten minutes straight. Dunno if it was in this clip or not, but Mercer states to a woman that a large percentage of Canadian kids in grade 7 couldn't point out their own state on an unmarked map. The woman said it was disgraceful that we Canadians were that unaware of our surroundings. Then her 7 or 8-year-old son piped up: "Hang on! Canada has provinces!!"
A good sign for the American youth of tomorrow, as long as Bush gets out of office soon.

Sorry, didn't think before I spoke. Up here, a Prime Minister can have the job for a helluva long time, so I forgot that the moron head of state gets the boot in '08 anyway. -_-

Yeah well.....we seem to have an abundant supply of people that go on "Are you smarter than a 5th grader".....so Americans being idiots doesn't surprise me.....(fact that we have that show at all is a little disturbing....)

I'm less worried about THAT show than reality TV. What garbage.

Why so unfunny? I've seen similar things with Canadians in them and I thought they were hysterical, so what's so bad about Americans being made fun of?

I think they just went around asking questions about Canada that of course most Americans would have no idea about. Also they probably asked tons of people and just showed the dumbest of the lot.

I didn't say there was anything bad in making fun of the US.
I just thought that particular movie clip was so boring.

If this has something to do with American's being stupid then you can cram it. You eurpeans need to learn that America is a great country and that we saved you asses in both world wars. I suppose if i have to talk to europeans i have to say things like 'i only buy organic' and 'eating meat is wrong' because you anti-war hippie assholes only care about crap like that and nuclear weapons. You all hated the war even though sadam was a threat that had to be taken down. you should be glad that someones looking out for you because you pussies sure as hell wouldn't do it.

Xtesh:
I think I disproved that by pointing out I laugh my ass off all the time when Americans make fun of us, and also when I said *exactly* what you just did: there were probably a lot of people who had perfectly reasonable responses/reactions to Mercer's questions, they just didn't make the video, because then it would no longer be a satirical comedy.

America *is* a great country. America... well... the World Wars thing, meh. Not really. You kinda blew the shit out of a lot of innocent Japanese people.
And either way, I don't see how any of your pro-capitalism, pro-war, pro-nuclear-winter propaganda has anything to do at all with the discussion, so, care to explain?

0_0 wow, am I on crack?
"Propaganda" was SO not the word I wanted to use there.
Anyway I still see no point to your argument.

It has everything to do with it. This is just another example of anti-americanism and its immoral and wrong. The fact that we saved your asses and keep on saving your asses means you should be grateful instead of shouting all this bull crap at us.

In all fairness, the French saved your asses from the British, so you should be greatfiul to them, but your not.
You sold Hitler military equipment, trucks etc, you only went to war when it involved you, not to help out others.

Question: If anti-Americanism is wrong, is it really any morally right to hate on Canadians or Europeans?
No.
