For the past decade, they're been the same thing: it's a similar situation to US politics where they wind up agreeing with each other in order not to lose votes, rather than consider gaining votes (as well as the choice for the last decade is conservative or Conservative).

basically, British Nazi Party (I replace a word)

In the way that you cannot possibly rationalise with them, they continue to steam on with their ill-informed, patently racist bullshit.

God bless David Cameron and his "one-legged Lithuanian lesbians" remark, once again showing under the Blairite veneer, he's a Thatcherite drone with no soul, but a lot of blackened hatred for the non-Middle English way of life.
To be fair Blairites don't heve souls either.

That's the thing about Blair: in the latter days of his Premiership, it was similar to Thatcher's, with his cabinet filled with clones and yes men - with increasingly bizarre policies being pitched.

Blairism is, essentially, to take the credit but to dodge the blame - Thatcherism was to hate everyone but yourself. They meld together rather well, as Mssr. Cameron shows.

The only serious reason I could see to vote the BNP is to give the government a kick up the arse. Voting other parties like the Lib Dems, the Greens or in Scotland the SNP is all well and good, but the government seems so much more scared at the prospect of the BNP gaining popularity. This wouldn't be enough to ever get me to vote for the BNP, but I think that's the major reason why a lot of people are tempted to vote for them. But I won't bother voting in the next election anyway. None of the parties deserve to be voted for.

What should be done more in the UK is not to chuck your vote at a waste of space party, but to spoil your ballot: that gets logged in the final count. If there's a large enough number, maybe they'd take notice.

Just remember that I said "maybe"...
