I think there will be a World War 3 but....with all the nukes around tosay it will mostly only be for about 10 mintues...as soon as one place fires a nuke...and the others see it coming...there fire these...then everyone will fire a nuke...and we will all die with in 10 or so mintues....

...as odd as it sounds...it could just happen.....

Considering your username, I can understand how such a thing seems so plausible.
I daresay it's possible, but people tend not to fire nukes, because firing a nuke means bad news for EVERYONE.
If, for example, I am one nation who doesn't give a damn about war atrocities, and I decide to drop a nuke on say.... Japan or New Zealand. Due to the nuclear fallout, I could expect up to a 15% cancer increase on my native soil, assuming that my country is on the same side of the earth. Even so, the global cancer figure rises every time that nuclear particles are unleashed into the air. The only thing more harmful are free radicals, but I won't elaborate.

Basically, since there are only about two nations dumb enough to fire a nuke in a war, and even fewer who can afford nukes powerful enough to do the job properly, I don't think that a nuclear war is on the horizon.

But who knows - I've been wrong before.

III World War???

We live a III World War every day, Israel is every day in war with the nearest countrys. We live a war with the terrorism every day! Assasins! Thiefs! Iraq!
Ok. If you didn't liked my idea. I will say this to you, a chance of war: Japan , China , Iran and Russian Federation, maybe Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countrys near Russia Vs U.S.A and some english countrys, maybe europeans countrys, except Switzerland.
But who will win? The time will show. This will be the duel for the World Power. A wrong choose can become the all the world communist or a Democratic one. So. The time is the answer.

Nostradamus predicted the world would end some time around 2012. I'm guessing our nuclear holocaust between Russia and China will start around that time.

We will soon realize that WW3 is really happening. Is the War On Terrorism sound similar back in the 1900s? or 1800s? I don't think so. No one would use the nukes anyways, but we can't get rid of them due to the fact that we need to show them that if they bomb us, we bomb them. If people were to vote on Ronald Reagan's Nuke Defense that could protect every citizen in our COUNTRY, then we don't even need to worry about them firing the nuke. Because if it gets close to us(if it passed), then boom into outer space, not even touching us.

I would think that WW3 would be the result of a massive screw-up on a superpower's part (America, China...) of invading someone else's country for whatever stupid reason (ie like lack of any evidence for iraq), then that escalating into a massive killfest.

I don't see there being a World War in the near future. Why? If nations went into open warfare, nuclear weapons would be involved, and everyone has plenty of nukes to wipe out most of the world's population.

Its difficult to see any sort of conflict warranting that activity.

I think a more likely world war would be hundreds of years in the future, between Earth and it colonies. Obviously, distant colonies would be able to secede, and Earth wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

If Mars wanted to secede - well, that's a whole different picture.

I can see more cosmopolitan planets trying to escape Earth's control and set up their own spheres of influence, while I see small mining colonies trying to get independence in order to squeeze wealth and resources out of Earth. To fight these rebellions, Earth's develops "Orbital Drop Shock Troopers" to seize hostile territory from outer space.

Wait - I just stole the plot from Halo. Oh well.

The Allies (aka just the US), the Middle East, and the Commies (led by N. Korea)

Nobody is really sure about what World War III will be all about. My two best guesses are probably... hmmm.... A war over the last oil resources maybe? After all, oil is the central driving force of many economies. The US and China have both stated that they will go through almost any lengths to get oil, and a viable substitute hasn't really taken it's place yet. Obviously, the other choice, is war involving the middle east, it's hot as hell there, and yeah they've fought many wars since Israel's inception, but since the 'war on terror' countries are starting to take sides. We'll see what happens. It's anyone's guess.

Don't think it will involve Europe or America but most likely Japan,Korea,China, Russia, India, Pakistan

Bullshit, everybody is going to attack the US, more-than-likely for the fact were probably going to take the first shot to begin with. But yeah, WW3 is probably going to be last world war, just because were either going to nuke the human race off the face of the planet or if there are any survivors the radiation is going to heighten the whole global-warming thing and cause an artifficial armageddon. We set our fate into stone by going through with the manhatten project.

i think its eventually gonna be between the USA and Iraq they've already been at war for about 7 years now (ever since bush got inaugurated...) or the USA with some other middle eastern country but i really hope it doesnt happen during my lifetime =/

i really do not think that its going to be between any countries in the middle east because its been shown that iran is a stand-alone country in the middle east(for the most part)
what i really think is someone mistaking one country's actions for a military move then all hell breaking loose because of that simple mistake

We are already in World War 3, everyone just refuses to accept it. World War... Hmm... Let's think about the words individually. World: The place where everyone lives. War: A battle over land or anything valuable. Now, let's see, Iran, Iraq, U.S., and Afghanistan. Not to mention Pakistan... If you think about it, that's a lot of countries in the same war. That's a lot of people in those countries in the same war. You guys have to wake up... WE ARE IN WORLD WAR 3!

umm the point of the name "world war" is that there is more than just 2 countries fighting like world war 2 there was japan, italy, russia, usa, germany thats where the name world war comes from a whole bunch of countries in one big war not just like the french and indian war or usa vs iraq a whole bunch of countries fighting one battle at the same time. not to be an asshole or anything but thats what a world war means

In my own personal opinion, i dont think World War 3 will involve firing nuclear weapons at all. I think if it comes to that, a ceasefire will be called. Besides, Nobody would want to piss amerika off that much. North korea might have a nuke or some shit, iran might have one, big whoop. I doubt they'd even have enough range to make it across the ocean let alone do some damage in amerika, But my real point is, that if we are logical enough to realize anyone fireing a nuke will be bombed into nuclear oblivion by the united states, then so are the countrys that currently control nuclear weapons themselves.

I think Iran is going to ally with some middle eastern countries, and some other Asian countries to take down USA. Either that or America gets those balls ready and nukes iran.

The middle east is already an alliance. It is a region mostly filled with communist dictator ship countries supporting al-Qaueda (w/e).

There is a reason the liberal media doesn't mention any casualty figures for Iraq or Afghanistan anymore. Even Sunnis in Iraq are joing the police force. We most certainly are not losing the war in Iraq.
