I feel like getting some critique for my drawings, so please comment ppls.
This is my latest piece of art. It took me about 2 or 3 hours to do and is my third sculpture. It's titled The Demons We Fight. and represents the head of a demon which is on a pedestal for show, like what old time hunters would do with their prey. Also the demon is supposed to represent that which is within us, the nastier bits which we strive to defeat, and so it asks the question, "I've beaten my demon, have you?" All my own work. I used no templates and did not use any models, I started with an icosphere and went on from there. I used Blender 3D and mainly concentrated on the actual head rather than anything else. Rate as well as advise, if you want to say your first imressions please do so. If anyone has advise feel free to say it, please.

Wow, Blender eh? Amazing work man, especially for Blender, you have a lot of talent. Makes me want to actually spend time on 3D sculpture and animation.

Thanx, its not hard you just need a fast computer and a little bit of tiem and patience.
I'd need to know how to colour in Blender before adding colour detail but I'll work it out eventually... =D

I heard that Blender is actually a really powerful program. It just takes getting used to.

it has quite a bit of detail, but its more bumps, not hard details. It looks decent.

blender is a good programe.

Yes it is, it just takes time getting used to the hotkey/interface setup.

Sorry for the double post, but I had to bump it... My favourite type of drawing is to do medieval weaponry and or fantasy of around the same era, this was supposed to be the nastiest sword I could make, but I'll probably make nastier sometime.

One of my other fantasy swords, I might make a digital version, but not until I get a graphics tablet. Comments please.

Nice work with the demon head, no critiques, but a little texture would be nice. I don't really like the swords, though.

I see so many sword drawings on NG and they all look the same, detailed doodles of an asymmetrical sword that's supposed to look 'badass', But they just look untidy and silly.

Try drawing someone/something holding a dangerous sword, I don't mean a small guy with a huge anime sword. But take away the little details, add a little something to make it unique, then put it in something.

You can't have a nasty looking sword on it's own. You have to put it in a nasty position, you can make a soup spoon look "nasty" if you draw it being rammed down someones throat.

Anatomy needs a little work, but still good, and nice shadowing on your last image, really good. Swords look really nice, I prefer the lower one, the not evil one.

you need to either make the toung a lot better or get rid of it, and make the head longer

I've been posting these last few images so that I can find out what I need to work on with my drawing, as I'm doing a character portrait I need to know my shortcomings so they can be corrected. So please make comments (or the art on this thread will just be mediocre). These two pictures took me about 5 - 10 minutes each and were just sketches about 3 cm in size. Comment Please.

the characters look really really flat as if they were made of blankets,

you need to work out the shapes on those bodies.
