Well the chance of it being BS are pretty high, but they arent asking for any terribly improtant info.
But if it was was me, it would just be more scrap for the trash bin.

You can't win something you didn't participate in. If you'd entered your email into the Irish Lottery, then I'd say go for it. But since I doubt you did, I'd say you should stop being so greedy and realise how much of a scam that is.

That's pretty much the most obvious way to tell a scam from the real thing. A lot of contests contact by email, but they will always have a email address, the name of someone you could contact, and an air of officiality.

If you have to ask this question, then I'm going to say no under two assumptions.
1) You never signed up for it, therefor you never got a ticket and it's impossible to win. How can anyone afforde to pay out if they never get anyone to buy anything in order to raise the money?
2) You probably would have heard about a lottery that gives out this much money on the news or seen it's advertisements in magazines or billboards. Since you haven't, it's probably a scam.

Surely the Irish lottery would be in Euros, rather than Sterling?

Apparently you do not know the basic rules of browsing the internet.
The thread does not just end because somebody with no authority says so.
