I cant upload :S

Hi,
i'm trying to submit a flash but it keeps on uploading :S
its not the file size i think because the Icon = 2.24 kb and it isnt uploaded to,..
[even here i'm trying to upload the icon but it just wont work]

If you're using Firefox it's Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Clear Now.

dude. i have the same problem. on this computer, everything whorks on NG except for uploading things. i use IE 7 and i tried firefox, both don't work. it REALLY sucks. i gotta use my dad's laptop to submit stuff.

I had the same problem with audio. I used the right browser but it still wouldn't upload. It turned out it was the wrong format. Try converting the format to what they suggest and it should upload. Don't worry you'll get it. And I can't wait to see that flash!

Files must be in .swf format. There is no "suggested" format, there is a required one.

You really have to be more specific in your posts about what you have tried and what you are workign with [in terms of browser]. Try these things.

1) Download Mozilla Firefox. [all following steps will be directed toward this browser]. You could also download Opera. Sometimes this browser alone fixes any problems you are having.

2) Clear cache [firefox]: Tools > clear private data > un ckeck all but cache > click clear private data now button. It appears you have already done this.

3)Tools > options > content. "load images automatically" "Enable java" and "enable javascript" should all be checked. If not check them.

4) Restart your computer.

5) Be POSITIVE that you are trying to upload the correct formats, size limits etc.

6) If still no luck [and you have done EVERY THING else above] Then tell us your connection [cable, dsl, dial up] and your internet service provider. [Comcast, optimum etc..]. I have heard of weird service providers causing odd problems but these people were usually in a different country [Australia i think it was]. And i believe that problem was fixed a month or so after the redesign but just to make sure.

BE SURE to tell us what you have tried, what has failed, what you didn't try. BE as specific as possible so we can better help you. Are you getting any error messages? Are the pics just taking forever to upload?

Two things i have forgotten. Java script is more likely enabled [you are posting here so it must be]. Also i referred to an older post with the same problem. The person was experiencing a firewall problem.

Indicate which anti-virus software you are using [Nortin, McAfee] and try to shut off your firewall (only momentarily) and then uploading your picture.

I was insinuating the connection/ISP wasn't working? [No i wasn't. Sole purpose was curiosity looking for commonalities with these types of problems]

firs:
1. internet explorer 7 [this is what i started with]
2. Mozilla firefox = i cant log in on a site with it :S....
3. Opera = still cant upload with it
4. Safari = cant upload with it,.,. (and its weard, but i think its because its the beta, but i wont wait for the FV. :P)

WTF, do i need to do???

Sounds like you're using some Internet protection software to me. If you're using this type software (McAfee/Norton, for example), try disabling it, then try uploading again.

McAfee and Norton are just examples, you might be using something else, but the rule still applies. Disable it, then test it.

You NEED to learn to follow directions and give more detail. You have not indicated:
1) Whether or not you have performed a restart.
2) What anti-virus program you are using.
3) Whether or not you have tried to shut off your firewall.
4) What happens when you try to upload [besides"nothing"]. The upload animation goes on forever? The animation doesn't even start?
5) If you are positive you are meeting the correct upload specifications [size and format]. I believe you are unless you should be getting an error message.

How about start by answering these questions first one by one.

To disable McAfee internet security.
1. Right-click the McAfee icon.
2. Point to Personal Firewall and then click Options.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. Set the Security Level by moving the slider to the desired level.
5. Set Access to Low.
6. Click OK to save changes.

TO disable McAfee firewall.
1. Click Stop McAfee Firewall to disable the software.
2. From the Welcome to McAfee Firewall screen, go to the Network Control Settings and select Allow All Traffic.
