Though I may disagree. Having three 21/21 is good along with 2 cards per artifact spell played and most of the cards in your now 20 card hand are 0 to 2 costing.

With this new set, I'm thinking of, for the first time, making a Blue/White deck. Leyline of Sanctity would have a good role, however one of the main things that catches my interest is using artifacts too add a bit more of a control element. A few reasons for this. The first is a card in the new set: 2 mana, tap a creature. If you have metalcraft, exile that creature. Works for me. Another card we'll be getting in New Phyrexia, which lets you untap your artifacts during your opponents untap steps as well as your own. Not only does that open up blockers, but untaps things like Tumble magnet to use again.
I've even thought of splashing black to add things like the new Surgical Extraction, Duress, and Sadistic Sacrament. If Everflowing Chalice were online, I might be able to even kick the latter.

An idea only just barely in it's infancy, but is it at all feasible?

Well, the club I play with is having a tournament tomorrow and I can't play, as I've got cricket commitments. The main thing being I'm glad I can't play, because I can't stand Scars of Mirrodin and Mirrodin Besieged.

Until we can cure infect abilities, it's a broken system.

What I don't get is why it takes only 10 infect to lose the game.

Well, either no-one's talking about who won the war, either because we're not bothered, or because we're trying to avoid the topic and the spoilers that comes with it. A new block out soon, then we can get on with our lives and proper Magic once more >:(

I used to play magic a while ago, I recently started back up, and I'm addicted. I bought a few deckbuilders kits and a crapload of boosters, if someone here could help me make a deck I would appreciate it.

Well I stumbled through my card collection and threw some stuff together, it is quite unrefined, however when I told my friend about it he said it had potential. I will post the deck listing as soon as I can, I'm dead tired.

Its a solid white deck

Well the good news is that Garfield (the original creator of magic and dude who worked on Ravnica) is working on Innistrad (the next block).

Also, we get to see jace 2.0, titans, squadron hawk (probably) and stoneforge mystic rotate out in october, which should help standard at least...

btw, splinter twin went up to $10 over the weekend. :(

First open pack and I get....KARN FUCKING LIBERATED. Seriously, I did not expect that. I am thinking of making an artifact-ish deck, though I will have to go through the rest of the packs first.

I'm trying build an infect deck for standard. This is my first attempt, posted on the Wizards forum, but no help as of yet unfortunately. The idea is too use Green Sun's Zenith to get out cards like Putrefax and the new Phyrexian Swarmlord in order to get out creatures, supported by your standard ramp spells, mainly Explore. Black also makes an appearance in the form of creature removal to hit blockers and open things up, for proliferate, and to get rid of Melira, which is being increasingly main decked. Also Skittles and Hand of the Praetors.

So any thoughts/recommendations?

If I wanted to be a cheating asshole, there would be cards like Giant Growth and Distortion Strike. Granted, they should have reprinted Leeches, but we do have Melira. That, and creature hate can really play hell on an Infect strategy.

Wow, someone's very anti-infect.

I'm off playing Magic tournaments for the Summer. Thankfully as the new cards are bollocks, I think the summer and cricket have come in to save me. When I can play in a tourney without infect messing everything up, I might get some enjoyment out of it.

Of course I am against infect. Being that you can die with ten of them, each 1/1 creature might as well be either a 2/2 or a 2/1 depending how how you look at it. Maybe if it took a little more poison to kill you it would not be so overpowered. When it comes to decks that have you gain life, what is the point verses an all infect deck? Also, you cannot get rid of them! Just look at that! Life you cannot regain. I know there are a few creatures that make it, or rather one creature, so that the opponet loses infect, but that can be easily killed by lightning bolt.

If you do not have mental mistep or anything else to counter that, then you cannot counter infect completely without using it yourself.

magic died after invasion set, now they are giving specific cards abilities a name and making entire sets round them, and also making madaf@king broken cards to compensate their lack of creativity
they remouved the cards that could be used in a thoughtful strategy AKA my beloved "counterspell" and making cards like:
1 mana -creature 5/5 lifelink protection fron black and red, if u have more than 1/2 lives u win the game

so basicaly they are making a game for ppl that doesnt wanna think too much, in fact i heard new players that use eldrazi saying that Counterspell was broken.... luckly for them we r not in the 90' were u could find Mana Drain....

to conclude, i live in argentina and im having a hard time finding casual players in these days, there are turnaments, but they are almost all standart, and no way in hell im playing those..

so if ur argentinian and looking for casual magic....

Just a question... How much would it cost to buy cards so I can start playing? Where can I find them? Do you have any online websites that sell cards, preferably in decks like they sell in stores? And if so, how about for Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards? Thanks guys.
