Personally I think the world is gonna end sometime. But not anytime while we are still alive.

Furthermore, we really don't know why this date was significant to the Mayans, because the Spaniards made a conscious effort to destroy their culture, and a lot of information was lost. All we do know is that the Mayan "long count calendar" completes its thirteenth cycle on December 21, 2012. The significance of this is unclear. Some people say it's supposed to be the beginning of a new creation, others say it has something to do with planetary alignment, and some say it's the apocalypse.

If it is the apocalypse, I just hope it's painless.

I thinking we may have used Moses as a comparison. While we are talking about great flood, you've go to think there is something behind that behind that, because it seems every culture has simlar storys.

I know their were at least two floods in the Mayan Creation myth.
