i myself am a republican i now realize, look at the facts, ever since being under bush's rule, nothing has happened to us (9-11 does not count), maybe hes a bit trigger happy with the "go to war" button, but you gotta admit despite his public mockery of him self, the guy hasnt done half bad

Every once in a while you'll post good, thought out responses and I'll start thinking you've grown out of that Tio that I despise. Then you come along and say this, and destroy all that.
Anyway, I'm a democrat, and have been loyally since the 2000 election thrust me into the political scene. I personaly believe that the ideals of most conservatives, especially President Bush, are more geared towards either helping family friends or Corporate America, while hiding behind failed tax cuts and claiming they are progress. Also, you can't beat Robert Byrd as a democratic Senator. The man's in a league of his own.

Yep. That's our great leader for ya! Seriously, people... if you can vote by the time the next round comes, PLEASE VOTE IF YOU DON'T LIKE BUSH!!! It'll be your fault if he sees another term, and you didn't vote.

Some questions dont warrant a good, thought out response...and this thread definitely didnt deserve one

Two points. This thread does not actually warrant a response as it is too stupid for words....however.
The difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is so insignificant as to render the question pointless, it's like asking "Do you like chicken, or chicken?".
This leads on to my second point, since both parties are so similar you are only accounting for a small amount of the political spectrum (not to mention discounting other countries.)

I'm a registered Republican, but I'm definitely not. I registered as Republican when I signed a petition drawn up by republicans and since I didn't have my voting registration up to date in address, I figured to update my registration there. They requested for me to register as a Republican in which I obliged figuring if politicans can lie, so can I.
So now the republicans look at my registration thinking they have my support, when they actually don't. Well, they have as much support from me as Democrats does.
So what am I? I'm neither. Both sides are corrupt in their own way and I prefer not to be a part of any of it. But I can lie and pretend that I am. Mess with heads. I'll be willing to answer a poll saying Bush is doing a great job, then vote to get rid of his sorry ass.
It feels good to mess with their heads. May not mean much, but it's something.

I don't think I belong to any party at the current time. I mean, Green party and the Independent party aren't taken very seriously, democrats aren't aggressive enough for my taste, and republicans...well, they're republicans.

I'm pretty much independent... last election I voted for Nader, my second choice would've been Harry Browne, and my third would've actually been Bush instead of Gore... but I will vote for whoever the Democrat candidate is in '04, I don't care if it's Al Sharpton :p
And before you yell at me for voting Nader, I voted in Alaska which is a solid Republican state so it didn't matter.

Shrike and I will also be starting a "Get out and Vote" campaign later in 2004, to encourage all legal-age U.S. citizen Newgrounds users to vote in the 2004 election. Or at least that's what we were tossing up.

I'm for the doves. War never solved anything.
"republican or democrat... choose"
...that's like choosing a punch to the face or a kick to the head.
Fuck both of them, I'd vote for Nader if I lived in America.

I'm more of a Republican because I only care about 'big business' and I have an intense hatred of the homeless.
Democrat is just a nice name for a Liberal.

Political parties? Nah, I just vote for anybody who doesn't seem like a big idiot. Needless to say, there's a certain pretzel-choking Republican I don't plan on voting for in 2004.

Im a Republican, but I like a lot of the Green Parties views. Im not sure if he is running. The shitty thing though, for the US, is that our electoral college makes it nearly immposible for non-mainstream parties to win the General.

I'm going to be elligible to vote in 2004, and as President of the Young Republicans at my school, I'm pretty sure Bush has my vote.
I don't blindly follow my political leaders, and I don't cling to their beleifs. I wanted to leave CA immediatley when I found out that Bill Simon was winner of the Primary for CA gov in 2002. And fucking monkey could have beaten Gray Davis in that race, but that moron, Simon couldn't.
I usually stick to my own sets of beliefs such as, being in favor of big businesses.
I'm in favor of big business, largley because I realize all of the benefits that I reap from its existance on a daily basis, such as being able to get fresh milk from the local Vons, getting a constant stream of hot water and electricity running through my house, and 24 hour tech support for my web-hosting packages. Most people give large corporations a bad rap, but they take for granted the commidities and services that corps provide.
I'd have to say, if anything, I'm a social darwinist. Survival of the fittest, baby

Thats good that youre gonna vote. Young people bitch and whine, but then they abstain from voting. That, to me, is like yelling at a wall. Everyone needs to vote once theyre able to do so.

Youth Activism is a polarized system... Only the most dedicated liberals and their conservative counter-parts get involved... everyone in the middle just doesn't care.
That used to bother me, but it doesn't anymore, since the kids I hang around are politically active (most of them are Democrats and socialists, oddly enough)

True, just like what happened last election, Gore got more votes but still Bush won because of the electoral college. I feel the electoral college should just be dropped because we no longer associate ourselves with the states unlike we did in the 1770's.

This year, with any good luck, I'm going to attempt opening a Young Democrats club at my high school. I don't believe we have one, and since I have half-decent DNC connections for around here, it should fall in place rather easily once I can find a decent educator-sponsor.

That's good to hear bro. Get kids involved, even if they are my political opponents.. it's the only way to get people to learn as to how our Government functions.
You might not think the electoral college is a big deal, but it matters a hell of a lot to people from smaller states.. it gives them more weight than they would otherwise.

On the subject of encouraging the vote, I helped with a voter registration drive at my college last semester, and we got about eighty or so voters registered. I am still under the impression, however, that most of the people who registered won't vote in the end.
But, perhaps it's best that some people simply don't register to vote. If they all suddenly registered to vote and Fox really went through with its American Candidate idea... well, I think "and a fox shall present the people a king, and it shall be meet in the eyes of the people," sounds like something out of the book of Revelations to me.

I've got some good friends, good people Democrat and Republican, to help me out with the founding of this. I might even stress for a Young Republicans club to go along with it, so we can put up debates like a more professional Speech Team. Also, Shrikey and I are going to be doing a big "Encourage the Vote" thing on the Newgrounds forums next year around this time, leading up to the Presidential Election. Everyone will be able to join in, but right now nothing at all has really been laid out about it.
