I am testing my newest game, Freelance Pong. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions for it? What rating would you give it if it were submitted to the NG portal? Thanks for any feedback.

Add power ups or something to make it unique.

I've been trying to figure out how to do that. Could anyone help me so that power-ups appear every so often, ex: between every 15 to 25 seconds or so?

I found a bug. Umm when playing on hard mode, if the pong ball goes off to the left corner of the enemy paddle, in one case the enemy paddle and the pong ball got stuck together and began shaking in the corner and there was nothing that I could do to get the game going again. I had to close the window and re-open it. Maybe you should put an option in that lets the user go back to the menu just in case something like that happens. Otherwise it seems like it has good potential. I agree with the person who suggested powerups. Good luck and I hope this will help you.

It took me around 4 attempts to beat 'hard', then I played time trial, letting the timer rise to 10 minutes to check the bug.

In 'time trial' mode, the timer increases in intervals of 5s rather than ever decreasing.

I liked the various messages.

ALso,, the shield is a cool idea. Put it on the up or down button though, so we can play with one hand.

I found the motion a bit annoying - when it got stuck on the side, on the enemy paddle or on the centre thing, the lack of deceleration and the fact that none of the movement of our paddle affects it. Rather than have the velocity change depending on the position of the paddle )which makes no sense with a rectangular paddle) just let us affect hte movement with the paddle's movement.

Once you've gotten the movement down pat, maybe add some various levels.

As it is, it's fairly derivative and though it has a few cool ideas, it's brought down by the shoddy movement imo.

How about adding a feature where one can choose a certain look for the pong ball maybe a few more colors, backgrounds, and such; you could even go as far as letting people design their own pong ball and rules.

Need to make an updated sig.

I'd vote two on the merit that it has all the necessary ingredients for an acceptable Flash game but does very little to stand out or be interesting. The major problem I see with it is that it's just Pong, again...

You should throw down a drop shadow behind the ball and the paddles to give it a semi three dimensional look.

lots of bugs.... If the ball gets to one of the sides it gets all glitchy. Also, when you die the game shouldn't immediately start. There should be a delay or you should click to start the next round. Overall the game sucks.

It was quite good but maybe if you had it optional to have mouse control?

Would work better with mouse or perhaps some acceleration if the movement key is held down longer. Two player could be fun too. (P1 gets A,W,S,D,Space; P2 gets up,left, right, down, numEnter. Or someone gets mouse.)

Powerups and things to avoid would be cool. Suggestions: grow paddle, shrink paddle, full shield, lose shield, faster/slower ball, shoot, hold-ball. (Basically any stuff that could be borrowed from DX-Ball, a classic variation of breakout, where the mechanics are close to pong.)

With the current demo I'm finding that spinny thing to be tougher than the opposing paddle. Also it seems to have a collision area that's larger than what the graphics suggest.

I think I could work on having mouse control, and a two player. Better looking paddles and options for the color of the ball are possible too. Power-ups are do-able, but it'll take some time for me to learn how. I'm not really sure how to fix the glitch though. Any help with that would be great. Any other suggestions will be taken into account as well.
