I don't like that you correlate muslims/middle east into one category. The ironic thing is that middle-eastern muslims are the minority. It's ok to insult the middle-eastern culture, as well, it's foreign and not many people know much about it. However, to start insulting an entire belief system is an entirely different thing. I can name you several countries with great literacy rates in countries where islam is the majority religion. Where women score as high as men.

However, you also have to understand in many poor nations the women are sometimes kept home for personal reasons rather then religious ones.

The whole thing about us not being the reason why terrorism happens is quite the bold statement, as terrorism is subjective. Try looking at some videos of a proffesor at DePaul University by the name of Dr.Norman Finkelstein. He is a Jew, who is unbiased in his political views on the middle-east. This is what I'd like to see from people.

Also, A lot of muslim countries are not Backwards as much as you'd like to think. The Majority of Muslims are asian and I doubt you would attack any of those countries for terrorism. Also, I never said Islam loves women. However Prophet Muhammad made exclusive statements in the Hadith telling people that women are to be highly respected.
