To boost team spirit, I won't even boo Frank Lampard. However, if England go out there will be a lot of angry people. I don't really want to say any more right now because I don't want to jinx things.

Damn, lucky you, would love to be at the game tonight. Far fewer sofas to hide behind though...

And not a good start (in my opinion anyway) on this big day in the world of football... Ian Holloway resigns from Plymouth. I'm feeling utterly dejected now, with him at the helm I honestly felt we could push for a play off spot this year, now we'll be looking over our shoulders at the relegation zone (assuming we won't get anyone as good, which we won't).

Totally mad decision by him in my mind, he was loved at Plymouth, and seemed to love it there. Instead he goes off to a club that fire managers faster than they can blink, are in a worse position in the league, and have expectations WAY above their standing.

Anyway... a good England performance needed to cheer me up (lol).. COME ON ENGLAND!

I take it all back... I wouldn't want to be you for anything, witnessing one of the worst events in English football history...

The less said the better... question is, what club will be desperate enough to take on Maclaren after his inevitable firing? (please don't be Plymouth... please!)

I need more alcohol...

MUCH more alcohol.

England loses to Croatia! 3-2!

Oh No!

While England only needed a tie to qualify for European Championship, they quickly allowed 2 quick goals. A huge embarrassment for the country who had created modern football!

Coach Steve McClaren (from what i read) will be departing as Coach for England, and he bench Beckham in the 1st half the the game. Though i think England only lost when McClaren puted in the untested goalie Scott Carson. This is the first time England has not qualified for the Championship since 1994. Now taking in England place will be Russisa with a (7-2-3) record. England had (7-3-2), and Croatia (9-1-2). Crotia been playing amazingly, it was just that England let their guards down.

Liverpool 4-1 FC Porto
Rosenborg 0-4 Chelsea
Celtic 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

A very good night for the British teams then =D

Liverpool's game was harder than the score suggests but with Torres on the pitch, Liverpool have that extra edge. The guy is pure class and well worth the £20+ million.

Chelsea dominated as expected. I've been saying this every season but i really think its our year. Who needs Mourinho? =p

Oh and Celtic had another lucky escape. I hope they qualify, just so Chelsea can draw them next round and give them a good spanking =p

Oh Radominator, you can't forget about Man. United.

They won 2-1, Man. United vrs SC Portugal.

The game was actually pretty good, though i expected better from Man. United, but they been playing not good this year.

Anderson and Nani were terrible in that match. nice to see Ferguson making early substitutions for once, Giggs and Tevez were both good. Ronaldo's free kick was pretty damn awesome as well.

They deserve to be, the way they have played recently. The next coach better have the balls to realise that Gerrard and Lampard can't play together and then they might get somewhere.

Yeah, although this could all be because of the Premier League, all the money only brought foran players into the prem.
Although we do have some very good players for the England side, we really do need that expert mannager.

Yeah, it makes the league better to watch, but it's not so good for the english game. But have you noticed English players don't succeed abroad? The squad is entirely based in england.
Not like Northern Ireland where only two players in our squad actually play in Northern Ireland and neither of them are in the starting 11.

Although we do have some very good players for the England side, we really do need that expert mannager.

You definitely do. You also need to invest more in youth. I can't remember the name of it but there was that massive youth project planned, youth training complex and coaching academy or something, it was mean;t to be massive. But they spent the money on Wembley. Would it not have been better to play internationals at Old Trafford or The Emirates stadium for another few years, whats the point of playing in wembley in ten years if you team will be terrible as the youth system isn't very good

Yeah, I see what you're saying.

It is 'possible' to get England better & if we're doing badly because of Wembly then I think its worth it, its never too late & we don't have anymore obsticouls.

I meant the two posts of the same.
But yeah, I quadrupple post'd.

¦

Watford 1-2 Bristol City
Substitute Darren Byfield's injury-time goal saw Bristol City condemn leaders Watford to a third defeat in a week.
Ivan Sproule was twice foiled by Mart Poom and Enoch Showunmi headed against the post as City threatened early on.

Marlon King's cross was tipped on to the post by Adriano Basso, who saved Jobi McAnuff's shot as Watford rallied.

Liam Fontaine's cross was headed in by Showunmi but John-Joe O'Toole's nodded header seemed to have won a point until Byfield volleyed in Cole Skuse's cross.

There seems to be a lot of post lacking in this club. We have to do some advertising or something, get more active members.

On an unrelated ntoe, Birming beat Spurs today. spurs are really struggling this season.

Don't do that.

Football isn't something that changes every day. Well it does, but it usually isn't interesting.

But if you want discussion, let's discuss the England job. I think they should give it to Mourinho as he has a proven track record of keeping big egos happy, as well as his tactical expertise. Stuff the 'style' stuff, England need to win. After that, there's Capello. He really would humble some of the lazy players, very severe and very experienced. However, he doesn't speak English. Big negative for me.

Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.
