There's also some wishful thinking going on.

You can fuck around with your team as much as you want before the season starts. My team will definitely change before kick off.

This is my first incarnation:

None of you picked up Joe Harte as the first choice keeper? I have a feeling that Man City will have a great season.

if joe hart is good theyll probably get a lot of clean sheets but i dont trust him that much after the england friendly where he let in 2 indirect free kicks no one got on the end of - seems like he might not have the best command of his area so i opted for experience

here's my second try

i'll take suarez off at the start

Also to keep it football related we should probably talk about santos vs flamengo

neymar's goal was good right http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAvbzwDjd So

And Aguero - Man City are looking strong right, hopefully this season they'll be confident enough to try playing with flair

How good is Aguero? I don't tend to watch Spanish football, but he has a lot of hype around him.

Me neither really, although I watched him in a few Argentinian internationals and he did look good (compared favourably with players like Higuain and Tevez). He seemed to play well in games against strong Spanish sides including Barcelona too. Obviously he's young and already has a good goal scoring record.

He'd be my second choice striker over Dzeko and Balotelli personally

For a player to be considered a target for teams like City and Real with their current strikeforces I guess you have to pressume he's very well regarded.

With that said, he's no SOULEYMANE COULIBALY THE FUTURE WORLD'S BEST STRIKER

I'm so excited for the new season. City and Tottenham to replace Arsenal and Liverpool in the top 4 :)

Fuck Balotelli. My personal distaste for him aside, he's too much of a loose cannon to play in a team that realistically wants to challenge for the title, and he'll never change with a soft touch like Mancini in charge.

I hear he's the next Didier Drogba...

Liverpool will win the title this year. The rest of the top 4 is irrelevant.

He is very good. If he can adapt to the EPL quickly, I see him scoring 20+ goals in the league.

I think he's one who should go out on loan for half a season or so (if anyone would take him). He is a bit of fun for the tabloids though.

I hear he's the next Didier Drogba...

I think that generally we (Spurs fans) prefer the comparison with Eto'o

He's definitely African regardless.

The next Asamoa Gyan!

He could do with Sir Alex beating some sense into him.

After the Arsenal celebration, I don't know what to think of him. I just know I hope Spurs being linked with him is tabloid speculation.

If Spurs buy Mata and Vucinic we will have the second best squad in the league after City, if not the best :)

lol, not even close. Mata is not strong enough physically, he will get murdered in the EPL against one of the "dirty" players and miss six plus months after breaking his leg.
As for Vucinic, he had ONE good season with Serie A RELEGATION candidate Lecce many seasons ago and that was it. Even Defoe is a better striker than Vucinic.
Your Spurs will finish 6th in the EPL.

We are less than a week from facing Southampton in the season opener. LB is the prority considering:
Parker is too injury prone
Bessone is rubbish
White is a LM, not a LB
With Bates in charge, of course we will go for the cheap option like we always do. With that being said, I'd like to see us signing Lichaj since he had a good loan spell with us last season.

People always say this and it very rarely happens. See David Silva.

Defoe in top form is better than many strikers. As I've said I'd prefer Damiao playing with Pav. Incidentally how is playing with a top-tier relegation candidate not just about the best test for a striker's ability?

Your Spurs will finish 6th in the EPL.

Lol nope. To who, Liverpool? Only Suarez and Reina would make Spurs' first team and the 'King Kenny' magic delusion is gone. Unless Suarez pulls it out of the bag and becomes Messi 2.0 they're going to flop again.

I really can't wait for the season to start and this bloody transfer window to be done with. It's getting so profusely boring, I just want us to sign a CM and get on with it.

I didn't think Suarez would go to Lpool or Pastore would go to PSG

I think players are more considerate of the future merits of clubs than many realise.

Also, sad news:

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder Lee Chung-yong will be out for a minimum of nine months after breaking a leg in a pre-season friendly at Newport.

Big loss for Bolton, and a ridiculous injury to sustain in a pre-season friendly.

On a side note, we beat Newcastle 3-2 in the final preseason game. Yes, preseason games do not mean anything, but it is still a good win that will boost the team's morale. Come on, Leeeeeeeeeds!!!!!

If Liverpool can progress as well as they did the second half of last season, I could see them getting 4th, or at least 5th. Hard to even guess what will happen, though, until the transfer window closes and we get down to business.

Judging by Leicester's performance against Real Madrid, we'd have a shot against most teams in Europe at this point.

Preseason games do not mean anything. Just because we beat the Toons, it does not make us the favourite to win the Championship. In fact, we have become weaker on paper with Schmeichel, Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson all gone and no quality players coming in. I'd take Championship survival as an achievement this season.
