Haha, very optimistic there. No chance of Bristol coming top, sorry. They should be aiming for a playoff spot, but the likes of West Brom and Watford have more strength in depth and quality. Charlton will probably push them hard as well.

As much as I hate to say it I think your positioning of Plymouth is optimistic, I would be happy with top half. Depends on who they can get in in January, ideally on loan from one of the big Premiership sides.

Palace and Preston will both improve sooner or later, I doubt either will be that low down at the end of the season. There is also no way QPR will be relegated, they are one of the few sides in the division with money, and they are already making moves for top players. Scott Sinclair going to them on loan will start moving them up the table for starters.

Other than that it all looks about right.

Off to watch Team Bath take on Chasetown tomorrow! Woo!

Ohhhh, well to me i usually don't count a tie at all, i still consider a tie as a winless loss. Since neither team win, though i thin they should get rid of the 1-point then, i dont want ties i want woines and losses. Bu hey thats my opinoin.

Nah, the draw has been a part of football since it began, and it will always be like that. Some of the best matches I have seen have been draws, and some of the best performances have come from teams that have hung on against much better sides for a 0-0. Take Rangers home match against Barcelona a few weeks ago as an example.

In fact not that long ago it was only 2 points for a win, and one for a draw, so a draw didn't cost as many points as it does now. As the current system stands it is worth a side attacking to gain those extra two points, but definitely worth a weaker side defending to gain that one. A team like Derby need every draw they can get, an Arsenal or Man Utd would see that as points dropped.

The Championship is effectively the second division of English football, with the Premiership as the top flight. Both Manchester sides are in the Premiership (and right up near the top of it at that), but this second division has particular meaning to myself and to Goth as we support teams that are in it.

It should also be noted that there are more divisions below this. In order they are : League One, League Two, The Blue Square Premier (Formerly known as the Conference)- beyond that it gets complicated by regional divisions.

For more info check out The BBC Sports website, football section

And not to moan (especially as I have no right to do so really), but it would be great if you could cut down on the triple posting, the mods frown upon things like that. If you want to quote multiple people then the easiest way to do that is to reply to one post, copy the text, go back and reply to another post, and paste your previous response above it. Or open each response in a new tab and paste them all into one reply at the end.

Cigolini, what football matches are shown over there? Are they on regular TV, or cable?

I remember when I was in Canada they showed one Premier League game every week, on a Sunday.

Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.

In the United States or South America? I mostly live in United States for school and Brazil for the summer. Well anywayz on the United Sates they have the channel, FSN. It only shows MLS, and 1 English Primere over the weekend, and for Brazil, they dont show at All any English games, they only show Brazil Copa de Club's. If you were only asking for English then i just gaved you some little more info. :)

No need to apologise, it wasn't bothering me, just felt I should point it out before any mods felt a need to ban you for it.

The English Premier League is simply the top division. Unlike American sport we play a league system where the top sides all play each other, then a separate division below where the next best teams play, and so on. So the top 20 sides are in the Premiership, the next 24 are in the Championship and so on, with the teams at the tops and bottom of each division at the end of the season promoted/relegated to even things out.

I never got that channel when I was living in the States unfortunately, though I did manage to watch the Plymouth FA Cup quarter final in a bar in Denver (after some serious chatting up of one of the cuter members of staff there!), I think that was on Setanta. I know a little more of the MLS than Brazilian football, though I did get some Brazilian results by watching the Spanish news in the evenings (I don't understand Spanish mind, I just wanted to catch any Premiership highlights they happened to be showing).

Team Bath lost today, though frankly I found myself rather happy at that by the end. As a university side (and one that is largely hated by the students as they get a lot of funding that could be much better spent on other things) they have very little die hard support... or none actually. I haven't ever heard such a quiet home crowd. Chasetown on the other hand were a true town side, and had 6 coaches of rowdy fans down here, and they really deserved the win. Good luck to them in the next round, I hope they get one of the big boys (Leeds?), or else a rubbish team and a big name in round three!

Also a good win for Plymouth today, beating lowly Norwich by three goals to nil to remain floating just behind the playoff places. Hopefully that will give them a confidence boost heading into the busy Christmas schedule.

And the less said about Bristol City the better, lol.

Oh and Sentio you really gotta tell me how to triple post and reposnd too a quote without posting 3 times on different quotes. Then that might solve my problem :)

I was at the Ricoh yesterday, to watch the rugby.

It's a cunt of a stadium. Absolutely soulless, more of a corporate centre than a place to watch sport.

It was pretty quite when I went there.

Coventry 0-3 Bristol City - (First Half 0-1)

Bookings:
Coventry City:
Tabb 25
Doyle 40
Ward 90
De Zeeuw 90
Adebola 90

Bristol City:
Elliott 90

I thought the reff' was gonna run out of room on his note book from the amount of violence your players where giving.

There was a group fight though, pretty kwl.
Our player from MillWall got booked.

Liverpool and the London Wasps. One point victory yesterday.

Yeah, I suppose the fact that it was only two thirds full contributed. Wasps actually chose to play there, which is stupid because they're great at home.

I know, & you'll never guess what Ipswitch did at half time when they where playing Bristol City...

These kids where taking in turns shooting at this target with a football, one of them was in full Norwich strip. His name was Mark.
They all had 2 goes each, but on the second go for Mark he took his shirt off & reveals that he was wearing an Ipswitch shirt under-neith, then they put a pitch fork through the Norwich shirt.
He still missed the target.

By the way are we going to just stick with the cup/league/table/championship. Or will we branch out to other discussions such as footie video games, or hooliganism. or those Football movies?

I'd love it if we talked about Soccer video games, like for instance Fifa 2008, or Mario Striker's Charged for the Wii. But hey if you wanna start it start it, but i think it all depend's what GothClawz say's

Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so amazing! the graphic's have improved, also the ball movement also improved, giving you that feeling that the ball isn't going away from you, and its easier too shoot, and the ball kind of glides with it, and you can determine before a kick the curve of it., depending on what side of feild you pass or etc. Also the penalty kick's and free kicks though are real easy too scrore a goal sadely :( well you can always make it difficult.

The player's image has also improved with the ball movement and with their control making it more realistic, and etc. This game is a must want for hardcore soccer fans :). So it won't be a waste of $$$.
