im sure im not the only one who heard, isnt it ridiculous that whoever tipped off the US to the location and eventual "kiling" of saddams sons was given 30 million dollars? i mean good god that money could have been given to the homeless or poor? but nooo we give a substantial amount of money just because he knew something, i also find it weird that this guy knew where they were, wouldnt he have to be within? thats just me i guess
on that note, no one can honestly prove who those bodies were, they were embalmed and given make up before display

Dental records were dug up and DNA testing were done before the bodies were even removed from the house. Also, that's the way the system works. I don't think he would have turned them in if it had been $30 million to everyone else if you risk your life and tell us where these men are. He's a dead man anyway, once the Saddam supporters find the Iraqi with $30 million.

Ever heard of DNA testing? If they were embalmed, do you honestly think noone would think of collecting samples?

I don't really see a conspiracy. I see a guy with dollar signs in his eyes and a way to make a quick $30 million and gain federal protection against all of his enemies.

Well, the US government offered $15 million per son several weeks ago, so when the guy turned them in it pretty much obligated them to pay. If they welched on their promise and decided not to pay then there wouldn't really be any point in offering rewards since nobody would turn in criminals anymore. And that's probably how we'll eventually get ahold of Saddam.
Is $15 million a pop a little excessive? Maybe, but it did work.

Technically he is a traitor, but in this case, a rarity: a GOOD traitor. God damn, what is he gunna do with all that money??? He wasn't exactly poor, but he wasn't middle class either! Well, in Iraw, he was rich, but the nation's in poverty...

We only punish traitors to our government. We certainly wouldn't have locked up any man who could have given a sniper a free shot at Adolf Hitler. Anyway, what bothers me is that it's tax-free, since he's not a United States citizen.

They couldn't offer a $30million reward and then tax it, although that would be funny.

The thing is even if he was a u.s citizen he might be rich enough for the tax cuts now.

the tipster was the owner of the home that was raided. he had relations with the hussein family and the sons used his place as a hideout, but 15mil per son just got too tempting and he turned their asses in after a while. also the sons had almost enough cash on their persons, that was confiscated by the US, to pay for the entire raid. so we didnt loose very much money in the end. i doubt this guy will leave iraq for the USA, but i'm sure he'll get the hell out of town and try to live as annonimous a lifestyle as possible.
the identity of the sons is true, they even show the metal bar inserted into uday's leg that has the same serial number as the one inserted after a 1996 assassination attempt.
the family did have body doubles to throw off assassination attempts, but when you are on the run and have no government left to control you have little money to pay people like this and it becomes too high profile for your own good. saddam's best bet is to change his appearence, not have body doubles.
i just hope that the 25mil reward for saddam is enough to sway his friends too.

i keep having this feeling that the tipster was saddam himself...
ya know i mean if i were an overthrown dictator of a country i would totally rat on my kids to make $30 million bucks... then open an account in another name get new id stuff move to pakistan with my good friend bin laden (even though they arent friends they are by a common foe...) then just bide my time until a new arabian army is ready to surface with its head osama and saddam... until they both get power hungry and kill each other in the process

The men around Saddam are diehard loyalists, and would not sell out for any amount of money. The only hope of the Army is that they catch him when he finally slips up and makes himself known. I think it would help if the media stopped reporting every single house we are looking on as it happens on CNN. If they didn't catch him, don't report it! Keep a low profile, Jee-sus.

You are right and they will do anything for their leader, but you know there are some not all, just some that are traitors though. But they are on the run tough as they say. But I agree with you 100 plus percent that the news should lay off a huge but. They are telling to much information. i know the people need to be informed but its kinda better to do and get it done and then talk and discuss it afterwards.......

$1.2 Billion a day, not counting any special problems that may arise. Fun fun! Also, I see a lot of people saying "Why pay them, anyway?" It goes like this:
Option 1: Turning in Uday and Qusay Hussein on your own good will, returning home poor and ostracized to a house that has been stoned and burnt, and your family killed.
Option 2: Turning in Uday and Qusay Hussein for $30 million dollars, a ticket to the United States for your family, federal protection, and the feeling that you PWNED the Husseins.
It's an easy choice.
