Update #17 - 19th August 2009
Well, one month later and the Blammers list gets the customary update treatment from yours truly. Nothing major in the movement stakes - the regulars carrying on their pursuit up the ladder, with the only major battle brewing seeming to be the 5 "on the bubble" accounts, as Orcmors, LittleWashu and Omgee are inactive, being chase by potential re-entrant Glamdrung and potential newcomer Jake. Looks like Glamdrung could be back next month, with Jake joining the month after, leaving only one spot below 15,000 Blams. Wow.

Right, that excitement over with, lets move on to who did what.

Well, for some reason Blamming has suffered a tough month - weird, as in ther afttermath of Clock Day, I saw a pretty decent increase in blam traffic. Oh well, maybe that just means more inactive accounts above me to put the pass on. Much more prestige for climbing this high nowadays, considering no-one really bothers with Blamming too much.

Not to worry - let me know what you think of the new(er) layout and I'll see if I can come up with something else innovative for next month.

Thanks for the update I guess, I suppose I won't make it up the list anytime ever, it's just so hard to earn Blam points lately as they are deleted too quickly, and when you vote zero on a crew flash you're as if you're taking a leap of faith... now I am taking this too seriously, I need another hobby, or another RPG game other than Newgrounds.

A good idea I think. 1,000 blams are rare enough these days and even the top 5 gainers would not get a milestone on every update.

I did pretty good. I gained another rank and my pace was decent. Now there is a big gap between me and the #104 though. But I will probably overcome it within the next two updates.

It doesn't have to be that way - on Friday, there were only 23 entries deleted totally. This counts entries deleted by the authors and removed by Wade as well. Out of 85 total entries, that makes a ratio of approximately 3 or 4 saves per blam, if you assume that all of the 23 blammed entries would get you a blam - not usually the case.

This points out that Newgrounds may be quieting down, but it does not mean that you can remain less vigilant.

It sounds like I'll be doing that then from the next update onwards - don't expect to see that with the top Protectors list though ;)

Well, 4 of a kind beats a straight. I took one for the greater good. Perhaps it will be reinstated some day. We need to bridge the gap to ramagi though :P

If we need another 42 gold, we'll have to wait for Sanjay to level up but that's not until around the same time I level up.

Damn, once again no milestones. However, that will change next time. Also, despite the lack of milestones recently, I'm against counting every 1,000's. Just keep it to 5,000's.

Once again, the total Blams are down, but since the table at the top does show that the top 5 are shouldering most of the load, I think that I've played some part in this by slacking off for one reason or another. Not that I'm totally responsible for 484 Blams disappearing, some responsibility is down to the lack of crap coming through the portal - note for Uni Students, if you want to submit more animation like that again, I'd gratefully accept a day when I can get over 20 Blams once a month or so ;)

Well, my comments weren't really an indictment against the B/P 51+ list, I was just commenting that looking at just blams and just saves really give a different perspective over the overarching B/P list. It shuffles the people around and shows where people's B/Ping habits truly lie.

You know, now you're gonna make a liar out of me now that I'm thinking about this... :-) I guess the only real suggestion I can give is to modify the "75B/P+" list to be something a bit smaller. The Portal has slowed down over the years and making 75 B/P a day used to be nothing. Now, it's basically an act of scouring the Portal for 24 hours a day. Something more like 50 B/P+ or 60 B/P+ sounds a bit more surmountable of a task. In fact, I'd say it's just as hard as it was getting 100-120 B/P in 2007. Also, I miss the "top B/Pers of the week," now that I'm thinking about it. Of course, I'm not the one that spends the hours of of my day updating that list, so I'm not one to complain, now am I? :-)

But don't get me wrong...I love the top B/P list and think you do an excellent job of it! Like I said before, I can never complain about someone volunteering their time to provide some nice stats for their fellow NG stat-whores. :-)

Yet. This list is but a small sample, so we'll take it as it comes.

Too bad I didn't gain any ranks on this update, but the top 100 is getting really close now. Just about 1,000 points more and I'll be there. Looking at my pace, it'll have to wait until at least June next year or so though.

Keep chipping away at it - blam points come along and eventually, if you catch a good few spam attacks, you'll soon move up the list.

Here we go again. It's been a slow month for Blams, as represented by only 15 users having passed 100 Blams this time around. With the usual suspects, I'll give a special mention to Ehwaz003, who missed the cut for the top 5 gainers by 1 single Blam. Fortunately, my run of poor form over the past week wasn't enough to give his that space :P

boloneyman is the latest user to get tracked for this, as he's reached 10,000 Blams - we're now tracking 208 accounts for the list. Just reading this made me think the 75+ pacers list should be scrapped to make way for Top B/P'ers. I'll see what the others think when making the update tonight. As for the bold pacers, I'll keep it to 50+ which is half of star pace. Seems fair for today's standards.

It's just the way that Newgrounds has gone, as people have been encouraged to make better flash and unfortunately, this has developed a culture of save-whores, which is crippling the Blam numbers at present.

Perhaps we'll get it sorted someday, who knows?
